Blessing '95

Blessing '95 is inspired by the vision and teaching of the Reverend and Mrs. Sun Myung Moon. Recognized around the world for their record of inspiring success in marriage relationships, they teach that marriage centered on God and devoted to societal service is the key to world transformation. They also affirm that the central goal of life is to realize the type of love that binds couples and families together forever. Ultimately, say Reverend and Mrs. Moon, marriage is the gateway to one's experience of the Divine.

Whether you are a single person, a young couple, parents with children or grandparents, you will find Blessing '95 an event not to be missed.

Blessing '95 is a global wedding ceremony which will embrace people of all races, nations, and cultures. At a time when the foundations of marriage are collapsing, couples from all six continents will gather via satellite to participate in a global expression of their commitment to eternal conjugal love.

Blessing '95 will also affirm values that give marriage lasting cohesion.

Some of these include:

Why?

Why participate in Blessing '95? There are important reasons.

  1. With your help, Blessing '95 will establish a basis for God to be uniquely present in your marriage.

  2. Recognizing eternal love as the goal of marriage will deepen your marriage commitment in the here and now.

  3. Blessing '95 will connect you to a global community of couples who hold the same high ideals. Many of the couples with whom you share Blessing '95 will become your lifelong friends.

Who?

Blessing '95 is for you. For new couples, it will serve as a special ceremony of marriage. For existing couples, it will renew and deepen the spirit of their union. And it will bring each participant into a growing awareness of their marriage as a restorative spiritual journey.

The Blessing '95 ceremony will be officiated by the Reverend and Mrs. Sun Myung Moon. Fulfilling a parental role in the realization of humankind as one family, Reverend and Mrs. Moon have served as a model for tens of thousands of couples throughout the world.

Blessing '95 is for people of all backgrounds. Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and people of other religious traditions have all participated in previous Blessings. The experience affirms that God is present in all religions and that sacred marital union is a key to spiritual life in every faith.

Love is meant to last. Yet we are surrounded by personal relationships that fail with astonishing ease. Clearly, achieving lasting love is no simple task. Underlying the intimate feelings, there needs to be a profound commitment -- something that is often missing in today's marriages. If we believe in the eternal nature of the spirit or soul, shouldn't love also continue eternally?

This summer, Blessing '95 celebrates the value of committed marriages and eternal love. It will be an historical event that lifts the ideal of love to the worldwide level. It is destined to have a powerful impact in our world - and you can participate.

When and Where?

Blessing '95 will take place August 24-25, 1995.

The central ceremony will be held at the Main Olympic Stadium in Seoul, Korea, with some 50,000 couples.

Other simultaneous ceremonies -- held in countries throughout the world -- will participate in the central ceremony through satellite hook-ups.

An historic event is about to happen and you're invited.

Applications to participate in Blessing '95 may be made through the Family Federation for Unification and World Peace, or through your local Unification Church.
