The Way of Tradition,

Father's Words for the Principles of Creation Unit:  "You are a Son of God or a prince of God, or a princess of God.  In order to deserve this title, you must learn to think as God thinks, live as God lives, and be concerned as God is concerned, and love as God loves. The Way of Tradition, Vol. 1, p. 265.

 Warm Up

Draw a simple outline of a church on the chalkboard or on newsprint.  Make it large enough to write inside.  Ask your students to call out words that come to their minds when they think of the word church.  (This will help give you an idea about your students' attitudes)

 Divine Principle Lesson

"The Four Position Foundation"

 Key points:

 A.  Origin-Division-Union Action

            1. The dual characteristics of God produce subject and object beings.  Through the action of Universal Prime Force, Subject and object can form a reciprocal base when they both think first about the purpose for the whole rather than just their individual purpose.  When they perform give and take action, they become one and form a new object to God.

Origin-Division-Union action begins in God with His purpose element, then divides into a subject and object, and unites again.  (Love requires an object to love)

            2. Three objects purpose

Each position in the four position foundation should relate harmoniously as a subject to the other three positions. (Three objects purpose)  If Adam and Eve had become perfect, then become husband and wife, and had children of goodness, then the children could see God by the unity of their parents.  Everyone should put God in the first object position.  Then they will be in harmony with each other and the world.

3.  The Four Position Foundation

When all four beings (God, subject, object, union) fulfill the three objects purpose, the Four Position Foundation is formed.  This is the basic foundation upon which God can operate, and which fulfills the Purpose for the Creation.

It is important to fulfill the responsibility of each position before going on to the next stage.  We have to become a mature child and then brother or sister before becoming a husband and wife and a parent.

 Applying the Lesson

Let's center our class on God and His viewpoint.  In our relationships with class mates, we should put God and His viewpoint first.

Discuss cliques with the students.  A good explanation is a group that only allows certain people to be their friends.  A clique often hurts the feelings of others and people in them often act as though they are better than others.

Establish your class a a non-clique.  Call it the "In Crowd".  The only rules in this group will be:

1.  We include anyone who comes to class.

2.  We do our best to put God in the first object position of our relationships with our class mates.  This means we always do our best to act like Jesus or True Father or Mother.

Draw up a class pact that says this group will not exclude anyone from our "in crowd," and that each member will do his/her best to act like Jesus and True Father and Mother.  Have everyone sign it.

Then have students design a logo to represent the group.  Be sure all the students help design the logo.  Use symbols that represent togetherness, true love, true family, etc.  Each student should participate in drawing or coloring a part of the logo.  When finished, hang it up in the classroom.
