Absence makes the heart grow fonder

Being away from home the last week or so in Korea has made me realize that every time I go away I miss my family more. This time particularly when I was leaving for Heathrow on Amy's birthday I really didn't want to leave.

Just realized how used to my daily schedule I am; of getting up before the kids with Chieko, then waking the boys up for school, morning service, breakfast, school run with Amy in the buggy, and then off to work, bed time stories in the evening, etc. busy but reassuringly so.

Suddenly being taken out of that rhythm of life has been quite disorientating, and when you add on the jetlag and the general schedule I have had out here I certainly haven't found lots of time to sit down in a peaceful way and concentrate my mind on making plans for the rest of the year, as I had intended.

Just waiting for Mark and Eddie to arrive at Incheon Intnl. Then off to Chung Pyung for a few days with them. Sooo looking forward to seeing them. I will feel a bit more whole again.

Quite a change from say 7 or 8 years ago when travelling for work seemed like a welcome burst of freedom from home. It's a good change.
