Dear District Pastors,
The first day of the Wongu Peace Cup sports tournament was held on Thursday, March 22 in Korea and Team USA was off to a great start!
The men's and women's volleyball teams and men's basketball team all made it to the finals. The men's soccer team won their first match, but lost the second match against the all-star Serbian team. They can still win third place if they beat the Japanese team on Friday. The success of our team (50 athletes) is a tremendous example of the great talent and sportsmanship of our American second-generation youth!
Funding for the travel of our team has come from a $250 offering from each athlete and the balance paid by our National Headquarters. We invite the members and families around the USA to send a donation through your District HQ to support our Team USA. Each District will then transfer the funds they've raised to Headquarters. Our hope is to cover the costs incurred by National Headquarters by raising at least a $1000 per district.
