Dear Family Members,

As high school seniors are preparing to graduate, they face a crucial juncture in their lives. Many are struggling with the decision of whether to enter STF training or to go directly into college. This package was created to give both students and their families a clearer understanding of what STF is by answering common questions and hopefully to offer guidance in this decision.

STF is a leadership-training program designed to help Second Generation understand their true identity and to inherit the Culture of Heart, or the culture of living for the sake of others. Young members are given the opportunities to challenge their limitations and to develop leadership and relationship skills through experiential learning.

The program is a full-time, three-year training course. The first two years are served consecutively and in their home country, with the first year emphasis on fundraising and second year on witnessing. Divine Principle lecturing and Service for Peace projects are also incorporated. The third year is foreign mission work, which can be served anytime after the first two years.

All high school graduates who will be turning 18 by the end of this year are eligible for this coming class of STF-USA.

Included in this package are an introductory video, an application form, and a brochure providing a brief description of the goals, curricula, policies, and the mission statement of STF, as well as an explanation of the seven-year course for Second Generation. Please watch the video and read the brochure carefully.

The 21-day STF Kickoff workshop will be held at the beginning of August; the workshop fee will be about $500.00. The deadline for applications is June 15, 2005. The application form can be mailed to: STF-USA HQ P.O Box 3068 Hayward, CA 94545.

Upon receiving your completed application form, we will send you a second package which will include a letter from International STF director, Mr. Ittetsu Aoki, and STF handbook which includes more detailed information about the Kickoff workshop and other important materials.
