What inspired you?

One of my favorite things to do when I talk to people of my parents' generation is to ask them, "What inspired you? What made you join this crazy movement of ours?"

My mum, who is raised a Catholic, said, "The Divine Principle". It is the first ever time that she heard a viable explanation of the trinity.

For my dad and for many members I have spoken to, it was the explanation of the fall that was applicable to the real world and to the suffering that we all experience.

And I am recalling a testimony that I heard from an elder brother in Los Angeles. who was actually a Christian minister at that time. When he heard the lectures on Divine Principle he would get so angry and say, "This is contrary to everything I believe!" But then he would go out and pray, and God would touch his heart and say, "This is the truth. Come, follow me!"

But then, I bet a lot of us did not expect that our movement would become out shined throughout the course of the wilderness time. We received so much persecution. It felt like other things were better. And along the way we lost a lot of brothers and sisters, children, friends and family members.

But, brothers and sisters, at that point I want you to think back. You heard the bells, you recognized that our True Parents are on this earth, that the Lord of the Second Advent is here. And we have GONE through the wilderness, and we will no longer be outshined!

And guess what! We have our True Parents, and they are STILL the ones that are gonna save this world!!
