In the early days of the Unification Church, when we tried to witness to our True Parents, that was really tough. We were pushed around, spit at, beat down and persecuted. Some of our greatest detractors were other people of faith who had received revelation and were inspired by the life of Jesus. And they had their own personal Jesus and they felt that that relationship was threatened.
So for a while it seemed that our movement was down and out because their foundation was greater, bigger and more popular.
But our True Parents, who ARE the Messiah, said, "Let's reach out and work with those who have pushed us around." Just over a decade ago True Parents founded the ACLC (American Clergy Leadership Conference) and said, "Reach out to the Christian ministers to build the Kingdom of Heaven on earth."
But many felt like, "Maybe the relationships [with the religious leaders] were not authentic. Maybe we did not have that connection that we should have."..... until Lovin' Life Ministries [started]! I don't know how YOU feel, but it is not easy to ask a Christian minister to give up their Sunday morning pulpit to come and pray and bless our congregation. But that's part of In Jin Nim's vision She said, "Let them pray over us. Let us build those relationships!"
And so it is no wonder that, when True Parents said, "We need clergy to go to Korea and speak on our behalf," 172 stepped up immediately and went and were inspired by the teachings of our True Parents.
But it was not enough for them to be taught. True Parents said, "Let's see how authentic these relationships are. Go home and bring your congregations to the OSDP workshops!" And ministers went and brought 100's of their congregations, they reached out to other pastors, and they were inspired. And we have just accomplished 3000 Christians that have been taught the Divine Principle...
It's not over. It takes everything we have got to keep going!
