Archbishop C. P. Johnson has made the Transition to Spirit World

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Tonight, Saturday, Dec 5th, we received word that our dear friend and brother Archbishop Charles Phillip Johnson has made the transition to Spirit World.

As I understand it, several months ago, Bishop Johnson had developed an infection in his throat which turned out to be esophagus cancer that quickly spread to his stomach resulting in his liver shutting down.

I visited him today and he was struggling with pain but relaxed and admiring the beautiful snow. He accepted a copy of True Parents autobiography. His wife Sennie, who is also his co-pastor as Bishop, came in while I was there and she was caring for him making him more comfortable. It was a beautiful scene.

He passed tonight around 9 pm. It was certainly sudden almost like a call from Heaven. Bishop Johnson “Charlie” will be remembered as one of the earliest and longest active pastors to stand with True Parents in America.

Please pray for his smooth transition and for his faithful family to be comforted.
