A bit about In-Jin nim

I just want to share a bit about In-Jin nim.

Since she has been in official positions I have had less and less contact with her and actually try not to bother her because she is so busy. So I want to share experiences with her before that.

I hadn't seen In-Jin nim for over 25 years at the time she came to NJ about 4 years ago with the Free Col. Pak campaign. There came the time in the service where everyone was supposed to greet their neighbor.

No one would go near In-Jin nim on the front row, they were too unfamiliar so I went up and said In-Jin nim do you remember me? She called my name, beamed a big smile and gave me a bear hug and we chatted a few minutes. I showed her a birthday card that she and her sister Un-Jin had given me when they were in elementary school. They signed it The Sunny Sisters She was moved that I had kept the card for 30 years.

We exchanged contact information and I started emailing her occasionally.

In the process of cleaning out the New Yorker we found so many precious items and we made great efforts to make sure they went to the right people. I found quite a number if Items that belonged to Col. Pak and asked In-Jin nim if I could deliver them to her house near Boston. So early one Sunday Morning I packed up my van and my wife and son and Louie my African Grey Parrot and drove up to her home.

I have to say that In-Jin nim and her family were not expecting someone to show up with a parrot on their shoulder pirate style but it did make our visit memorable. Of course we use a lot of tissues to clean after the bird that day and I felt bad that I had to clean bird poop from Arianna's shoulder but it definitely broke the ice.

We had unloaded the boxes that I brought and had a barbeque cooked by Preston her oldest son, then we went to their living room to talk.

In-Jin nim sat on a chair and motioned for my wife and I to sit on the couch next to her chair. Maybe I'm too old-school but I didn't want to sit on the same level as a True Child so My wife and I sat on the floor with our backs comfortably supported by the couch behind us. In-Jin nim immediately slid down from the chair to be on the same level as us. I was so moved by this gesture of humility. We chatted for four hours.

My son Joseph was playing chess with Arianna near by and at one point we heard her say. Mommy he kicked my butt! I guess Joseph is pretty good at chess.

Their home was beautiful and In-Jin nim's life was full of homeschooling five kids and attending international piano recitals that her kids did very well in.

She told us about sponsoring the music program for 2nd gen in Japan for the past seven years using her own money. (Now it's been 11 years.) She gave me a couple DVDS of those programs.

In-Jin nim has a great love for cooking and food and I was planning to visit a second time to take pictures of some of her dishes for a cookbook she wanted to write and then that the world came crashing down.

On Sunday I sent an email to In-Jin nim that I could come the following week if Hyo-Jin nim didn't speak. Monday morning I heard of his passing. I emailed her expressing sympathy for Hyo-Jin nim's passing. She replied that she has lost four brothers; Her heart was broken in ways that I cannot imagine.

Soon after she was abruptly snatched away from living a wonderful life and making a considerable contribution to our movement to being thrust into the 24/7/365 lifestyle of an international leader and representative of the living True Parents and along with that came the torrent of accusations and rumors.

Now at Lovin' Life Ministry and last Sunday in Brazil we see this wonderful lady, daughter of heaven so elegantly fulfilling a responsibility that she never wanted in a position she never sought. Her hand-shaking and hugging and listening to our Brazilian members was a life-changing experience for them as it was for me.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this.
