RE: Raising funds for the BFD

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This is a fundraising letter to ask you to support the activities and programs of the Blessed Family Department.

We are asking all members to donate $5 to $10 each month (more if you choose) to support what we are developing in the BFD.

We don't want to ask for a big donation that will hurt your financial situation and we don't want you to give money to the BFD instead of another church group that you would otherwise be giving it to.

If you are not familiar with the various ministries and programs that we have established, please take a few minutes to visit our web page at www.familyfed.org/bfd. We think you will be impressed. And tell your friends.

We feel we have reached a point in the development of the Blessed Family Department where there are too many projects and services that we would like to provide and cannot because of limited time and money. (Jim works a full time job besides his BFD work.)

New inspirations come all the time, but we just have to say "no". Many have even volunteered to help us, but we haven't been able to find the time to organize how to give them jobs to do.

We feel if we could hire a part time person, we could accomplish a lot more.

In Korea, Japan, and some nations there is an established system for funding Family Department activities, but not in the U.S. For now, we've decided that we will just ask you for a monthly donation. There are two main reasons. First is ownership. Money spent in the BFD is to help Blessed Families and therefore it seems right that it can come directly from Blessed Families. For money that we raise directly, we'll feel more responsible to you for how it is spent and we'll feel more ownership over it for BFD purposes.

If we are producing valuable services for our "customers" (you), then it will be obvious by the amount that you are willing to contribute how well we are doing.

Secondly, by raising the funds ourselves, we don't have to take money from the Headquarters budget and away from other worthy providential activities. We won't need to ask for an increase in our budget.

As we stated in the beginning, please think in terms of giving $5 or $10 a month. With just 400 or 500 families donating, we would have around $4,000 every month. That would allow a huge expansion of the things that we are doing.

Finally, in the age old advertising tradition of offering incentives in order to increase donations, we want to offer you an incentive to "dig deeper". For those who will commit to donate $20 a month, we are going to send you a super valuable FREE gift each month.

The first free gift for anyone who gives $20 or more by May 1 will be a musical CD of True Parents singing 28 of your favorite songs from the Holiday celebrations in the mid-1970's. Here is a link to a webpage that will give all the details and list the songs on the CD. http://www.bccandidates.com/buycd.html

Each month we will have something new and different, but always something you'll "treasure for a lifetime".

(Enough advertising). Here's how you can register to contribute your monthly donation.

Go to this webpage, print it out and fax it to the number on the form: http://www.familyfed.org/bfd/BFD-CC-Auth.htm

Or go to the following webpage for more options: http://www.familyfed.org/bfd/BFD-Donate.html

It will tell you where to send a check or money order.

NOTE: Feel free to use the above forms to make a one-time donation as well.

One-time donations can be accepted at any time. The free gift for that month will still be sent for any donation of $20 or more.

We really appreciate you.

God bless,

Jim and Hiromi Stephens
