Accra, Ghana -- The Universal Peace Federation of Ghana and the Direct Selling and Marketing Association of Ghana are collaborating to co-host the first African Culture Week Festival and the first Africa Peace Video Competition February 17–23, 2011.

The African Culture Week Festival is a project of the Direct Selling and Marketing Association of Ghana. The Project Coordinator, Mr. Donald Cog S. Agumenu, is the CEO of Equity and Equity Limited -- a limited liability company solely holding the sole right for "Go Girl Energy Drink" in the sub region. He is the Editor-In-Chief of the Culture Digest International and an Ambassador for Peace. Africa Culture Week Festival: The goal is to preserve African cultures for newer generations and promote African culture in both African and non-African communities. It is also an opportunity for officials of the African Union, African governments, and community to join together in celebration of the diversity in African cultures which the continent is known for.

Countries will have the opportunity to showcase how they are creating an environment that fosters creativity in all its diversity. Efforts by various countries to end the pillage and illicit traffic of African cultural artifacts and ensure that such cultural properties are returned to their countries of origin would also feature prominently in discussions and sessions.

Africa Peace Video Competition: A project of UPF-Ghana, the Africa Peace Video Competition has been designed to be an annual event. The idea is to bring peace lovers into one festive boat, each proposing through a video presentation (10 minutes maximum) the best way to bring about, enhance, support, or celebrate peace in the family, society, nation or the world.

In a world torn by wars, individuals, families, societies, and nations are searching for lasting solutions. As a result, media people are in desperate search for news.

In the midst of these, the UPF is searching for individuals and groups that can change the world with pictures. Pictures get people talking, and they can impact our world more than we can ever imagine. We are seeking educational video coverage that can communicate peace messages, messages that can make a great impact on the minds of viewers. Thus, the purpose for this competition is to foster and celebrate peace.

It is going to be a week-long event, and plans are already at an advanced stage.

As co-host, UPF will showcase our organization each day from February 17 to 23 through educational programs or International Leadership Conference sessions. It is our hope that UPF leaders in nearby nations can participate in these educational efforts since they involve not only Ghanaians but also leaders from around Africa and the Diaspora.
