WCSF Peace Song Contest

by David Eaton

The World Cultural and Sports Festival, in association with the New York City Symphony and the Artists Association for World Peace, is launching its first annual "Peace Song" writing contest.

WCSF is seeking original songs based on the universal themes of world peace, living in harmony, removing boundaries, living for the sake of others, solidarity with the human family and true love, as a way to promote the ideals of its annual festival.

There will be cash prizes awarded to the top three entries (as judged by a committee of professional producers and musicians) and several "honorable mention" songs will be recorded digitally for a WCSF Commemorative CD and presented to the awardees.

Applicants must be between the ages of 15-25 and must submit their entries (on CD, cassette or Mini-disc) prior to May 1, 2004. For contest more information, mailing instructions and application forms on-line, contact www.musicforpeace.net or NYCSYM@aol.com.
