In late July, President Shimmyo met with several UTS graduates who now hold leadership
positions in the Japanese movement. The purpose of the meetings was to discuss ways in
which the Japanese movement can offer support to UTS. This photograph was taken at a
dinner in honor of Mr. Katsumi Otsuka who became President of the Japanese Church earlier
this year. From left to right, the grads are Kizashi Takemura, Takeshi Wakisaka, Hiroshi
Matsuzaki, Takemitsu Hoshiko, Theodore Shimmyo, Katsumi Otsuka and Takashi Sakuzono. The
appointment of Mr. Otsuka now means that the churches of Korea, Japan and the United
States all have UTS graduates as their presidents.
