Dr. Seidel Attends Templeton Workshop
In July, Dr. Dietrich Seidel not only attended the Templeton Workshop for
Science and Religion in Oxford, England but was able to meet personally
with Sir John Templeton, the foundation's founder. Dr. Seidel reports that
Sir John expressed some interest in the Unification Movement and had several
questions. Each year, the foundation awards the Templeton Prize for Progress
in Religion. (For further information on Sir John Templeton, see the June
'98 issue of World and I.)
To date, the Templeton Foundation has provided $12,000 for the development
of Dr. Seidel's Science and Religion course at UTS and in August, it was
announced that one of Dr. Seidel's students had won fourth place in a Templeton
essay contest (see following report.)
