Mexico

Mexico was the first country to be pioneered in Central America. Missionary work began with the arrival of missionary Susan Burbank in 1973.

Then, following the arrival of missionaries from the United States, Japan and Germany in 1975, weekend workshops, street witnessing and other activities commenced.
The first member to join in Mexico was Edmy Martinez, witnessed to by missionary Masakazu Sato.

Regis Hanna, who came with his wife Nancy from Chile in November 1982 to work as a missionary in Mexico, became national leader that country and regional leader of Central America. Twenty-one day workshops were held from July 1983. By March 1986, both a church headquarters and training center had been established, and members could devote their energies to missionary activities.

Furthermore, on November 24, 1993 land for a training center was purchased near Acapulco city, so workshops could be held. Although it has been more than twenty years since missionary work had begun in Mexico, the experience is still the providence of restoration in a church that is largely underground.
