Canada

Missionary work in Canada began on July 2, 1965, with Reverend Moon's consecration of a Holy Ground beside the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa. Full-scale activity began with the pioneer work of Linna Rapkins and Marie Ang. These early efforts to spread the Principle saw an increase in membership and thus the church, requiring larger premises, moved to 76 Scollard in June 1969.

The Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity was registered in September 1969. In early 1974, churches were built in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. In May of that year, members purchased the first headquarters building.

In 1974, Robert Duffy became national director and membership doubled within a year.
On February 5, 1977, an International Rally for World Freedom was held in Toronto, and representatives of twenty-two organization joined the movement for victory over communism.
In June 1977, Martin Porter was appointed as national director and in 1978, a monthly magazine, Our Canada, began publication. Amid a deluge of "progressive" magazines, Our Canada came to be seen as the only magazine offering a solution to the problems in Canadian society.

Later, intensive witnessing activity was carried out and several people joined the church. In addition, members distributed Divine Principle and videos to thousands of church ministers in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver as part of the work to connect them to Reverend and Mrs. Moon.
