My dear brothers and sisters,
True Father stated after Young Jin Nim went into the spirit world: “He has gone as a holy offering.” Considering this fact we are all invited to reflect about his life on this 10th anniversary of our beloved Elder Brother’s ascension.
The following lines are excerpts from what was expressed at Young Jin Nim’s Won Jeon ceremony in America and in Korea. Please take the time to read them attentively to refresh a clear awareness of the value of this precious child of our True Parents and our own responsibility towards the True Family:
In his prayer at the preliminary Won Jeon Ceremony of Young Jin Nim in the United States on October 30, 1999 Rev. Chang Shik Yang described this 12th child of True Parents as “a model of love among his siblings” and reported to our Heavenly Father:
“On October 23, 1999, the True Parents declared the Day of Liberation of the Blessing for the Entire cosmos, thereby liberating all the creation and the cosmos. On this foundation, they have finally declared the beginning of the Age of the realm of the fourth Adam, that is, the age of the original ideal in which You exercise direct dominion.
Young Jin Nim has gone as a righteous offering representing the True Family to save all humanity in the spiritual and physical worlds who are unable to converge with this Providence directed by True Parents and are unable to stand in a providential relationship with the True Parents through their absolute faith and accomplishments.
The True Parents, by their profound true love for humanity in both the spiritual and physical worlds, have brought liberation and blessing indiscriminately to a humanity that is terribly unprepared and lacking in merit… I believe Heaven has permitted the sacrifice of Young Jin Nim from the True Family as dispensation for this tremendous grace given to us by True Parents.
Almighty God! In conclusion, Young Jin Nim has passed into spirit world when we are approaching the completion of the six thousand year Providence through the Holy Blessing of 400 million couples under this year’s motto, ‘The Cosmic Expansion of the True Blessing and the Cutting off of Satan’s Lineage.’ He goes when True Parents -- through Ku Ku Jeol, Sam ship Jeol, and Sang Ship Jeol that followed -- have cleaned away even the final vestiges of Satan. It is no longer possible or allowable for condition to be established for Satan’s accusation. Thus, Young Jin Nim’s passing has no relation to Satan.
Young Jin Nim goes as the final righteous offering that is required for us to move into the conclusion of Heaven’s Providence, and as a living sacrificial offering for the total liberation of all Heaven and Earth. He goes for the sake of the entire Cain-type realm.
Young Jin Nim’s passing from the physical world took place on October 27, the 66th day prior to the close of 1999. Thus, the sixth son of the True Family went into the spirit world as indemnity to restore the number six, which has been under Satan’s dominion, for the sake of six thousand years of providential history. In this sense, he has gone as a symbol of the total living offering, as a sacrifice for the total liberation and blessing of all creation and the cosmos, and for the opening of the Age of the 4th Adamic Realm.
Clearly, this is because all blessed couples in the Cain-type realm because the children in the Cain-type realm could not come together and thus were inadequate to carry out Heaven’s Providence. Thus this pure and noble sacrifice brought about by the failings of all of us who are blessed couples.
Oh God, who is Almighty Jehovah! Victorious Parents of Heaven and Earth! From all this, the Seung Hwa of Young Jin Nim is something You have permitted as part of the process by which the True Parents and the True Family are themselves indemnifying and accomplishing the portion of responsibility of the Cain-type realm that is required in order that Heaven’s Providence can be brought to its final conclusion.
Following the Seung Hwa of Heung Jin Nim, Young Jin Nim has become another sacred sacrifice of the True Parents and the True Family for the sake of the redemption of humankind. Please open wide the gates of heaven and receive Young Jin Nim, who goes as the first pure offering after the beginning of the Age of the 4th Adamic realm.”
At the Won Jeon Ceremony in Korea on November 12, 1999 Rev. Kwak explained that the True Family paid such enormous indemnity through sacrificing themselves:
“True Family’s difficulties and trials were caused because the blessed families could not fulfill their responsibility to protect them. Satan has always accused even a small condition that remained unfulfilled through our responsibility and desperately looked for a chance to strike True Family. We were unable to become a good protective barrier. Rather we often fell into being the object of Satan. As we established insufficient condition of indemnity, True Family had to bear it in our place.
Young Jin Nim was born as the sixth son in the True Parents’ Family and the second son born in America. From his young age he was very intelligent and a top student in school. He had many talents, and was healthy and masculine. He had deep views yet was a man of few words. He was always dutiful to True Parents and tolerant toward his brothers and sisters.
The knowledge that Young Jin Nim went to the spirit world as a sacrificial offering to indemnify the mistakes of both the first and second blessed generations is still more painful. The evil side targeted Young Jin Nim for payment indemnity when humankind entered the age of the realm of the fourth Adam without paying enough indemnity condition.
True Father once said, ‘How good it would have been if True Parents could have raised True Children directly. Yet I had to first raise the side of Cain and of the archangel until I established the foundation of cosmic victory opening all gates of providence.’
To liberate through indemnity God’s original sorrow, caused by the tragedy of his only begotten son and daughter, True Father carried on with the heart to sacrifice everything from himself of his Family to the Unification Church. True Father expected us to protect the True Family as long as we grow according to the teaching of Divine Principle and fulfill our responsibility. However, we certainly did not fulfill this responsibility. This world failed. This nation failed. The central religion failed. And eventually the first and second generation blessed families failed. The protective shield was weak because of our insufficient indemnity and our additional mistakes. The evil power accused True Family again. Such an awful and sorrowful event occurred because of this.
Young Jin Nim was sacrificed to indemnify all the mistakes of second blessed generation. True Father said, ‘Young Jin Nim will go to the same place as Heung Jin Nim, Hye Jin Nim and Hee Jin Nim and help in the completion of God’s providence. I do not have any sorrow in my heart. He has gone as a holy offering.’
We should realize how serious are our mistakes before such True Parents who have always walked only the public course. How could we console True Parents heart which bear unfathomable. On the occasion of this Seung Hwa Ceremony we should thoroughly repent again for our disloyalty such that we could not protect the True Family. At the same time we should make a resolution to increase our filial piety toward True Parents and loyalty to God’s will. At the beginning of the age of the era of the realm of the fourth Adam we should check ourselves and our families and should be resolute to being living offerings.
Dear Young Jin Nim! We are so sorry to you. We repent ourselves and determine our filial piety and loyalty. Please forgive us. As True Father said, please be joyful and free for True Parents’ providence in the heavenly world, together with your brothers and sisters. Under the wings of true love, please serve True Parents with devotion! May God and True Parents’ love and protection be eternal for Moon Young Jin Nim!”
Father spoke to everyone present. “We will all go in this way. If you cannot make preparations on earth there will be great difficulty. If you live well, you will go to a holy place.”
Regarding the heart with which to see Young Jin Nim off he stated, “If you shed tears and grieve you will be brought down. In the spirit world, they are giving him a big welcome as a member of the Parents’ family. I ask all of you to send him off with a joyful heart.”
True Parents asked, “Let us pray, bringing our hearts together,” and offered a prayer: “At 2:45 pm, November 12, 1999, Young Jin Kun, a child of the True Parents, will return before Your respected presence. I dispatch him as a child from my direct line, so please help him to form a four position foundation with the future family of his sister Hye Jin, the family of his brother Hee Jin and the family of his brother Heung Jin.”
Father also offered his gratitude for the fact that the True Parents were able to appear in the history of restoration, which is a history of han in which failures were repeated, and through their manifestations, welcome the age in which anyone among mankind can receive the blessing and the change of lineal connection. Father especially thanked Heaven that the time had come in which the earth and the heavens are to be liberated by the equalization of the blessing.
Regarding the significance of Young Jin Nim’s Seung Hwa, he prayed as follows:
“Hye Jin passed away as an offering in place of all the sorrowful han that Eve nailed into the heart of the Heavenly Father. Hee Jin passed away representing the New Testament Age, and this time, Young Jin Nim passed away representing the Completed Testament Age…
True Parents have walked the path of risking their lives to clarify all the secrets of history arising from Satan, for the sake of Heaven and God’s will. Now, upon True Parents pioneering a path of suffering, humankind has greeted the era when people can respect and attend the True Parents. Thus I am sending your beloved son Young Jin Nim into your embrace.
Today, through the occasion of this Seung Hwa Ceremony which is being watched by all of heaven and earth from the domain of the Unification Church in the spirit and physical realms, and their descendant throughout eternity, be brought into oneness. On this occasion I am offering before You, Heavenly Father, the authority of my victorious son, a child in the direct lineage of the heavenly family.
On that basis, and by Your intimate love and great heart that can embrace even Satan, please allow Your blessing to be received and the liberation of the heavenly and earthly worlds. Offering up before You my sons and daughters, who are able to act independently, may there be a base of peace in True Parents’ family that smoothes over this chaotic world. As it is True Parents’ wish, please permit those who offer devotions, centering on the tribe and for the sake of the individual, family, tribe, people nation and everything, to be connected to the original palace and to the royal family able to attend Heaven.”
Father also prayed to Heaven regarding Young Jin Nim’s family in relation to the restoration of the world of evil. After the prayer, Father spoke in a serious manner to the Children standing before him. “As the three brothers who are in Heaven working together as one, you siblings must also become one,” and further, “At this hour, you must pledge before Young Jin. You must promise, If you can promise raise your hands.” The Children raised their hands.
When True Mother gave a testimony in the evening of November 12, 1999 she expressed about her son: “Young Jin, you are so wonderful.“
May we all follow the example of our elder Brother Young Jin Nim in being a model of love among siblings and unite with one another as true brothers and sisters just as the True Children had promised on that day to become one.
