District #6 February Prayer Breakfast Report
Bruce Biddle
February 2008
This month's pastors' Prayer Breakfast was held at Live Ministries in Cleveland: a vibrant inner-city ministry in Clevelands' Fairfax neighborhood which offers a rich variety of community services, from free meals to Alcoholics Anonymous to martial arts for young people and much more. Rev. Frank Smith is the inspiration behind this church and was our host pastor and keynote speaker for this month. About 30 people gathered. It was organized by Reverend Smith and Dr. Thelma D. Johnson.
As people entered their bright dining room, they soon started to greet and share with each other. Joel Lindstrom and Chris Bihary's lively acoustic guitar music added an extra spiritual lift to the already friendly atmosphere. After a delicious breakfast, we moved to the sanctuary for the main program. It started with the great song "Lift Every Voice and Sing".
Dr. Patrick Reynolds, as emcee, kept things flowing smoothly through the spirited program. Rev. Dorothy Burton delivered the "Goals and Objectives for ACLC" and encouraged everyone to work together beyond any differences. Rev. Smith spoke about the heart of God's desperation and how, through Jesus, God worked to bring back Adam's family, which was lost at the Fall. The message was powerful and well received. We closed by taking the beautiful group picture as you see here. Thank you, all who helped make this a beautiful day of interfaith celebration! May God continue to bless Live Ministries and its important work in Cleveland!
