The Words of the Biddle Family |
Our June prayer breakfast was held on June 21, again at the beautiful Fairfax Place senior care center in Cleveland. We started the program with the video introducing the Global Peace Festival and caught the spirit of One Family Under God, the theme of the program. The keynote speaker was Dr. Louis Timms, who is an associate pastor and author of several books. His talk this day was similar to his books, which use humor and his own special insight and experience to teach how we all can lift up the church community by being righteous and true to the Christian spirit. As it was close to Father’s Day, that theme was ever present as well. Dr. Timms spoke with joy and eloquence of the challenge of being a true Christian and true person, his message conveying a wonderful power for refreshing our spiritual viewpoint and for “doing the right thing” in all aspects of our daily life.
Reverend North came from Youngstown, almost two hours away. Evangelist Anita Wilkins, driving almost an hour from Akron, brought us a spirited report from the National Prayer Summit in Washington, D.C.
Though a smaller number of people than usual came, it was a beautiful event, a very joyful and warm prayer breakfast. We concluded feeling very much as “One Family Under God.” Thanks go to everyone’s support through their attendance and prayer.
