The Words of the Biddle Family |
Our August Prayer Breakfast was a great success. The keynote speaker this time was Rev. Joel Lindstrom, who is a very dedicated member of FFWPU and ACLC. The theme was “Who are we?” During the breakfast, we shared testimonies of the Global Peace Festival and also saw a recent video. The spirit was very hopeful and high. Rev. Dorothy Burton, who was emcee, went through the program step by step with much heart. The song “I need You to Survive” was sung by everyone, and a scripture reading by a city councilman brought much excitement to the room.
After the ACLC Goals and Objectives were read and announcements given, Rev. Bruce Biddle shared a brief PowerPoint, Restoration by Indemnity, and introduced the speaker. Reverend Lindstrom shared his deep insight about the importance of the vision of “One Family Under God”. It was well received and everyone felt the true love behind God's providential work. This was followed by a Blessing ceremony.
A special musical offering was given by Gene Walker, a well-known saxophonist who came from Columbus especially for this event. Mr. Walker has played with Aretha Franklin and has been on the stage at Carnegie Hall and many other distinguished venues. Recently when Dr Thelma Johnson attended the funeral of our fellow minister Rev. W. Rickey Barksdale, Mr. Walker was there and he agreed to come Cleveland to share his amazing talents. It was remembered that Rev. Barksdale was very dedicated and supported our movement. As Mr. Walker played “When the Saints Go Marching In,” all were moved to sing and march as if Rev. Barksdale, in the spiritual world, were marching also to support us even more than before. Reverend Burton closed with her prayer at the end of “Amazing Grace.”
Thank-you, again, Dr. Johnson, for your investment of your heart to make this event successful. And thank-you, everyone, for your support.
September’s Prayer Breakfast was dedicated to the "International Day of Peace,” established by the UN to be celebrated on September 21. The theme of the speaker was “God Cares!”
The Day of Peace ceremony was led by Dr. Thelma Johnson, Reverend North, and Bishop Jemison. The ACLC Goals and Objective were read by Elder Edward Walton. After announcements by Keiko Biddle, Reverend North introduced the speaker, Evangelist Anita Wilkins.
A song was offered by Anita’s daughter, and then Evangelist Wilkins spoke. She has also attended many of our events and conferences. She testified from the bottom of her heart and with powerful energy that God really cares for each and every one of us, no matter how tough our situation may be. She urged us all to tell others often about this simple but profound truth! It was a powerful and beautiful speech and inspired everyone that this kind of heart can bring peace to the world. Closing remarks and prayers came from the deep hearts of Bishop Jemison and Reverend North.
It was truly an international peace day for our rainbow of friends and fellowship partners on that beautiful morning. A special thank-you goes to Elder Walton, who worked on making the program and thank-you to everyone who came and prayed for its success, especially those who came from Columbus, driving more than two hours. Thank-you to all.
