Revelation 21:1-8

"....I saw a New Heaven and New Earth, for the first heaven and earth had passed away and there was no more sea. And I, John, saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven which was saying, 'behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, 'Behold, I will make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said to me, 'It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him that is thirsty of the fountain of the water of life, freely..He who overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the wicked, and murderers, and fornicators, and idol worshippers and all liars, shall have their part in the lake of fire: which is the second death."

Good Morning how are you?

Because of your hard work, your sincere minds and with the help of the holy spirit, you brought the victory for True Parents in Washington and Baltimore. Now we have to prepare for True Parent's tour on June 26 in Charlotte. We stand at this historical turning point with a chance to participate in this kind of meaningful event. Our mind and heart is overwhelmed with thoughts and feelings which we cannot express. I can only offer a thankful prayer to God for helping us to bring success. Also, I want to thank you because you voluntarily helped in this event with all of your mind, strength and resources. I am very deeply grateful to all those who contributed their efforts to make our event a success.

Through this event, very significant and important things have been accomplished. By this victory, satan's power has been diminished while God's power has been increased. The balance of power dramatically shifted to God's side. Our successful event accomplished that kind of historical turning point. Because satan knew the potential for that to happen, he made great efforts to destroy this event. Satan tried his best to bring disruption to many areas with the hope he could prevent Father's tour from taking place. For example: Only a few days before the beginning of the tour and Father's historical proclamation, the entire nation and world was deeply shaken by the tragic events in Waco, Texas. After that took place, didn't the thought cross your mind that, maybe, Father should postpone the tour? Satan was desperately trying to confuse the nation and cause us to doubt. However, when he could see that our faith was unshaken, he had to focus his attack on another area. Finally, in desperation to stop Father's proclamation, he even tried to invade the preparation of Father's speech, itself. As the final draft of Father's speech was being prepared, suddenly, the xerox and fax machines would not work. Even the printer's own copy machine also, suddenly, broke down. Satan, desperately, wanted to stop Father's speech. Satan wanted to stop this event because he knew Father's proclamation would seriously compromise his power.

Of course, every city of True Parent's tour was important, but from the providential point of view, Washington's event was the completion stage event. New York's event was the formation event, New Jersey was the growth stage event. As the completion stage event, God had to absolutely achieve victory in Washington. That's why Father stated that if the first 3 cities were successful, than the tour would be a total victory, no matter what happened in the other cities.

Our community, departments, and church united together in order to accomplish a victorious foundation. We worked hard to make God and True Parents happy and to establish the historical turning point. Brothers and sisters throughout our community united together in mobilization activities. Also, during Mother's Day, 75 members of the community participated in the holiday fundraising activity. Did we do a good job or a bad job? Do you have a good feeling or bad feeling? Wherever Father went, he spoke of the great victory in Washington. He talked to members and leaders everywhere about Washington's victory. So after the Washington event, the tour stands on the successful completion level. That's why he is so confident and can already be making his next plan. If we had not brought success here, what would have been the consequences? I think we would forever have had a regretful and shameful mind, similar to the nation of Israel. Before this event took place, we didn't understand how important it would be. Don't you agree? That's why 3 days before True Parent's arrival, suddenly a violent storm swept through the Washington DC area. According to news reports, 7000 lightning bolts struck the city, over 400 trees came crashing down and 3 people died. The meaning to this is similar to the time of the crucifixion of Jesus; when he was crucified there were 3 hours of darkness and upheaval.

This underscores the significance of the Washington event. As I mentioned before, Washington's event, like the Washington monument campaign, was on the completion level. Washington is in a unique position. As the capital of the only remaining superpower nation, it could be said that Washington is also the capital of the world. Through this event Father resurrected Christianity, reconstructed this country and revitalized the world. Father reconstructed the foundation upon which world peace can be achieved and maintained. Even though you are living in Washington DC, you probably don't fully realize the value of this city in God's providence. Actually, I heard that some members feel upset about the inconvenience of having to drive into Washington each Sunday for Church service. The truth is that it is the greatest privilege to be counted as a member of the Washington DC congregation. You should understand that to be a member of the Washington congregation is beneficial to your family honor and prestige. In the future, your descendants will tour this holy building and reverently lead their family and friends to the place where their honorable ancestor sat and worshipped every Sunday. There they will testify proudly about what you did to help build True Parent's foundation. Am I just a wild dreamer or do you also think what I am saying will come true? I assure you that when people know the value of True Parents and of this place, no one will feel inconvenienced to come here, even if they must leave home on Saturday night to arrive here by Sunday morning. From this time we have the chance to realize the value of this city, your mission and the value of you and I being here.

After our event, Father had a spiritual vision of Washington DC. In his vision he could see that now Washington is connected to God and heaven in a new and special way. He could see holy fire consuming the entire city and the sky over the city was all bright and shining. This symbolizes that God's glory is hovering over the city like the pillar of fire and pillar of cloud hovered over the Israelites. The darkness, clouds and fog are gone from Washington and in it's place is bright and shining light. This signifies the resurrection of Washington and that now God and the spirit world can more intensely focus their power here. Isn't it good that Father has that feeling about Washington? If Father has that feeling about Washington, then he must have the same feeling for America. That means America has hope.

Also, because the seat of the government of the United States is located in our city, we have to pray for this government and help them go in the right direction. Unfortunately, the government seems to be confused about the right direction. If the leader doesn't know the right direction, we have to teach him how to solve world-level problems so that world peace and happiness can be achieved.

Because of your effort and hard work, this kind of blessing has come. For example, when the violent storm hit Washington, there was a power failure and all the lights went out at the mobilization office. Instead of just giving up and going home early, the members kept working by the gas light of the flower-stand lanterns. Because of that kind of spirit, satan was chased out and God could work to resurrect this city. This kind of effort was typical of the effort made by many from our community. It makes me feel deeply grateful and thankful to those who participated in this event. As a representative of True Parents, I say, once again, Thank you. And now let's go forward with unending confidence to accomplish our mission.

Of course, achieving a successful event itself is important, but just as important is the effort to cultivate and harvest the fruit or result of the event. God has been sowing seeds for 6000 years. We have to use the opportunity of the successful event to follow-up with those who could directly hear Father's historical message. That is our responsibility which we should pursue with a sincere heart and mind. In support of this, we have planned the seminar on June 5th at the Washington Times. We have to give our contacts the chance to study and know Divine Principle more deeply. Also, the revival service of June 6th will be devoted to our new guests. So all those who worked hard for True Parent's event must work as hard to cultivate the seed. We cannot let the seeds die. How do you feel? Do you agree? Without cultivating and harvesting we cannot say that we accomplished a complete success.

The most important thing in our life is to accomplish results and report them to Father so that he can be happy. Father wants to hear about how things are developing and about the results of our efforts. We need to prepare a true love story to give to True Parents. The "true love story" True Parents are waiting to hear is the report of our success and great results. Such results are the visible evidence that we are understanding and inheriting the spirit, heart and mission of the True Parents.

In the Completed Testament time, our individual responsibility is to adhere to the values, attitudes and lifestyle that will qualify us for the Kingdom, the 3rd Israel, of The Completed Testament age.

So what shall we do? Shall we give up or shall we try to gain that lofty standard? In order to become the people of hope in the new age, we have to evaluate our own life standard. We should help each other to assess these points. This is why I created the 1000 hour card. Through this card, you can evaluate yourself very clearly. Are you using your card? Do you remember where you put your card? I hope not in the trash!

To be an owner of true knowledge means that we remain in unity with God's will forever. In order to be such an owner, we have to resurrect, fulfill our life of faith and achieve the perfection of our personality. Through further analysis, with biblical support, let us think about this point.

The quickest and best way to develop is by throwing out the old and taking on the new. It is like taking off old clothes and putting on new clothes. When you wear new clothes you feel very good, you feel happy. Without giving up old habits, traditions, concepts and lifestyles, new growth cannot emerge. We can see many examples of this in nature. Unless the old dies away in autumn, the new buds of spring cannot appear. Unless the seed goes into the ground and dies, a new sprout of life, bearing new seeds will not appear. Because all things are connected to the new, all things sacrifice themselves for that which is new. That is the principle of nature. If we compare ourselves, before the church and after, before blessing and after, before the completed testament time and after, before Father's speech and after, if there is no difference or development inside of your heart, than something must be wrong. Would you agree with that conclusion? No matter when you joined the church and no matter what kind of high position you may have, unless you resolve this situation it will cause you trouble throughout your life. A tree which has no seed is a tree which has no life.

One endearing and meaningful declaration from St. Paul is recorded in Romans, chapter seven. He expressed his heart and situation in a very revealing way when he lamented, "...who will rescue me from this body of death?" His heart was so troubled over his own personal struggle between his mind, which seeks God, and his body, which seeks satan. St. Paul was very wise to openly and honestly reveal his situation rather than hide his struggle and pretend he had no problem. Believers who confess honestly to God, are taking out all the bad things from within themselves. It is better to do that than to try to hide those things from God. Can anything be hidden from God? Therefore, confessing to God is the wisest course. Without the life of confession we will become two-faced and hypocritical. Our internal reality and external appearance has to be a perfect match. We have to learn from St. Paul's life of faith and go forward with a similar mind.

The Kingdom of God is different from any society of this world. The values and view of life of our present society will not serve us well in the coming Kingdom. Therefore, to function freely in that ideal world, we must take on a new philosophy, new concept and idea, a new view of life and the world. In order to become a Kingdom citizen we have to establish a new lifestyle.

Someday satanic society and culture will be a thing of the past, so don't have too many attachments to the society and culture that has no future. Instead let us be attached to the coming world which will be forever.

In the Completed Testament Age, the most important virtue is obedience to God and True Parents. The most important thing is our vertical relationship with them. Therefore, we must evaluate our motives and actions. We must always be sure that we are in line with True Parent's directions and tradition. If we can correct ourselves daily, then we are sure to go in the right direction.

It is difficult to learn good things but easy to learn bad things. It is difficult to have a good habit but easy to have a bad habit. It is easy to lose good habit, but difficult to lose a bad habit. That is our real situation, so then, what shall we do? Even though it is not easy to change our situation, if you continue, if you endure, you will finally achieve great results. There is no other choice.

God has chosen us because he needs us. We are God's possession. We cannot just do as we please. I cannot manage my life irrespective of God's will. Someone may want to leave our church, but it's not easily done. It is not easy because we are God's possession and our destiny is to be connected to God and his will. So the best way to manage our life is to understand the Will of God and act accordingly.

Revelation 21:1 says, "....I saw a New Heaven and New Earth, for the first heaven and earth had passed away..." through this the Bible is teaching us to understand the times and what we will have to do. So we have to understand the importance of our time and have the right concept for managing our life.

In order to become the ideal man and woman, and to establish the family, tribal and church foundations desired by God and True Parents, let us open our mind and eyes as wide as possible. Our mind has to be deep, wide, big and round in understanding the new era clearly; otherwise we will not be able to fulfill the new frontier mission of the new age. Let us march forward, with a strong and bold spirit, into the frontier of the new age.

Today's society is miserable and hopeless and there are so many people who are hopeless, painful and crying. So many people are managing their lives poorly. Even so, there is still God, so we can find the way to resurrect. That is why we have new hope.

We can see evidence of that hope in the Bible. Revelation 21:3-4 says, "....and I heard a loud voice from heaven which was saying, 'behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

This scripture testifies to the hopeful nature of the Completed Testament Age. Our time is one of tremendous change; a dramatic change from the sovereignty of evil to the sovereignty of good.

Therefore, if we have a strong, bold manner, trusting God and going forward with a joyful face, we will accomplish our goal. If we believe in God and True Parents and if we receive their word, we will have rebirth and resurrection.

Because of True Parent's victory, I am feeling totally rejuvenated and I have a sense of overflowing joy. I am expecting to see miracles happen very soon. How about you, do you have the same feeling?

If you have a positive life of faith, nothing is impossible. If you have a negative life of faith, nothing can be accomplished. When you become consumed by negativity and resentment, you are only working against yourself. You will increase your own indemnity course, all the while blaming others for your own increasing difficulties. Sadly, many continue this way until they become filled with misery and bitterness. This is what took place in the lives of John the Baptist and Judas.

I think there are two kinds of people living in the Washington community: Positive people and Negative people. Which type of person is more able to manage his life with hope, joy and brightness? No matter whether, going or coming, eating or fasting, sleeping or awake, without controlling bad habits and wrong emotional power, we cannot become people of God. Such people will, eventually, become dominated and enslaved by satan. Persons of positive faith are always constructive, creative, hopeful and able to manage their lives in a productive way.

We should heed the warning of the scripture: Revelation 21:8 says, "....but the fearful, and unbelieving, and the wicked, and murderers, and fornicators, and idol worshippers and all liars, shall have their part in the lake of fire: which is the second death."

In this new age, we have to have a rising new hope, let us go to the new frontier of the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth. A certain philosopher once said, "....even if tomorrow is the last day of the world, I will still plant an apple tree". In this same manner, we should have hope and plant "a new apple tree" in our life of faith. God wishes us to have this type of attitude.

These are some of the important aspects of our mission:

We must know the nature of the time in which we live.

We must deliver a new message.

We should witness to the new central person.

We should accomplish the realization of the ideal Kingdom of God on earth.

Revelation 21:7 tells us, ".....He who overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son."

We have to accomplish God's will, become victors, inherit the heavenly heritage and become God's children. That is our mission. Gaining spiritual children is very important. If we neglect those who attended True Parent's event, they will die in the same way a flower withers and dies if it isn't given water. We cannot let such precious people die like that. God has been looking for such people for 6000 years . If, because of my own neglect, idleness and lack of concern, they were left alone and died, how can I avoid the historical accusation. But if we try our best with a sincere heart, the seed has to grow up and bear fruit. We have to restore and resurrect a new environment with our brave and intelligent witnessing activity.

Who will establish a "New Heaven and a New Earth"? Who will be owner of that "New Heaven and New Earth?" Who will become a pioneer on the new frontier of this exciting adventure? When we actually consider who can do this, we must conclude: it is only us.

Even though this is not an easy mission, let us take up our responsibility whole-heartedly in order to make a new and beautiful environment. Our mission is the accomplishment of Pledge # 5. We are establishing a new sovereignty, a new people, new land, new language and culture, new heavenly tradition, a new heartal world....this is our mission. Therefore, we need to become a new heavenly people. We have to witness and accomplish the mission of tribal messiah.

Even though we may die tomorrow, don't forget the mission. Even if we can only deliver the message to one person, we must expand our grass-roots foundation.

Because of this, God called us and is hoping that we can be the ones who can understand the hope of God and True Parents. We have to overcome our selfish, private desires and go forward with a public purpose. Let us become the proudest member in attendance at the final heavenly banquet. Let us avoid the path that leads to remorse and a guilty conscience.

Even though our result is small and not perfect, lets be resolved to try our best, beseeching God to forgive us for our small result this time and to give us another chance to do more in the future.

At this new age, let us understand clearly the third Israel's mission. Let us accomplish our mission.

Revelation 21:5-6 says "....And he that sat upon the throne said, 'Behold, I will make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said to me, 'It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him that is thirsty of the fountain of the water of life, freely."

We are here because God chose us to be the witnesses for the new age. That's why we have a responsibility to record and transmit the new truth and historical record to the eternal generations. During True Parent's lifetime, we saw, heard, felt and joined together with this public activity. Everything in our life should be a witness to God and True Parents and a precious treasure. Therefore, someone who participated in True Parent's tour compared with someone who didn't, is the difference between heaven and earth. Anything which relates to True Parents will gain historical, unforgettable value. For example, the Shroud of Turin is one of the most holy artifacts of Christianity. By itself, it is only an old cloth, but because that old cloth may have laid across the body of Jesus, it gained immeasurable value. God has endured 6000 years in order to have this kind of historical proclamation which we witnessed. He prepared 6000 years, so the proclaimed message is of immeasurable value. Not only does this event have historical value, but the people who participated in this event have gained the same precious value. By ourselves, we may be just "old cloth" like the Shroud of Turin, but because we participated in the historical event, we gained the precious value of that event. Therefore, we cannot lose such precious people, we cannot let them go back to satan. We have to open the way to their bright future. That is the meaning of Revelation 21:6 which says "I will give the fountain of water of life to him who thirsts". That is the Father's heart.

Even though Jesus came on the earth 2000 years ago, they could not believe in him. They were waiting for him to come from the sky on a cloud. This time people who hear this historical proclamation and understand, are so valuable and, therefore, we cannot let them die. We have to try something to save their life and resurrect this country.

True Parents arrival upon the earth is the accomplishment of the Alpha and Omega. So he gave to us the last proclamation. That is why True Parent's tour is such an important tour. I pray that God will give, to those who helped this event, a special blessing. Let us try our best to be the best witnesser in the new age. We are precious and wonderful people. We are a living museum of the living precious history. Understand the value of yourself and let us avoid making a stupid mistake. Let us try to collect an eternal life testimony. Let us collect more exciting stories from our own life experience.

We have to accomplish a successful life of faith, because we are the people that God has chosen in this last dispensational period. There will be no "3rd coming". If my original mind and conscience are guilt-ridden, can I be happy? If I cannot cooperate with the path of righteousness, will I not have remorse? If I miss some incredible providential opportunity, will I not feel regret? Given these circumstances, can I have hope for success in my life?

Can we ever forget the heartal relationships which we made during the times of difficulty and misery? With that kind of heartal relationship, those people become eternal brothers and sisters. I can say, this is the most precious thing. When other people don't believe in the meaning of the time, I believe; When people won't take action, I take action; when people thought that the Unification Church was a dangerous cult, I could sense something deeper and I went to the center to find out for myself. This kind of person is most precious to God. We came when the truth was hidden and not easy to know.

Let us have heavenly wisdom which can establish a good result. Let us have the spirit of volunteerism and sacrifice. Let us avoid those like the foolish virgins in Jesus parable, who could not prepare oil for their lamps.

Those who could not participate in these events so far, we have one event left in Charlotte on June 26. If they will try their best with a sincere mind, They can still receive a great blessing.

There is no such thing as the impossible for someone who is on the way to the Completed Testament Era. Let us become the pioneers on the new frontier with a strong and bold life of faith.

The Human mind has many limitations. So we cannot understand the totality of God's future plans. We have enough to learn and understand. We have to absolutely follow Father's direction. Let us go forward, following Father's directions. Let us accomplish a successful life of faith with a new determination, let us become the people of hope for the new era. Let us make an incredible victorious year of 1993. In order to do that we have to remember the true meaning of Revelation 21:1-8. Let us achieve the standard of the new age, let us have a new hope, let us accomplish a new mission and let us become the witnesses of the new age. By fulfilling these 4 conditions we can become a citizen in the Kingdom of God.

Once again let us offer our congratulations to God and True Parents for victory of True Parent's speaking tour. Also once again, thanks to those who participated in this campaign. I pray for your always. Thank you very much, May God bless you.
