ESGD becomes European Seonghwa Deparment
Daniel Christensen
September 20, 2007
Dear Everybody,
We would like to inform you of the renaming of the European Second Generation Department (ESGD). What was previously known as the European Second Generation Department will from now on be called the European Seonghwa Department (ESD). The function of the ESD however does not change.
One of the reasons for the change is that we are not only responsible for the education of second generation, but also for Jacobs’s children, third generation and even young Ambassadors for Peace and members in the age of elementary school to high school.
Meaning of Seonghwa
The name Seonghwa has already existed for a long time and has been in use in Japan and Korea. The name was given by True Parents to a gathering of blessed children already many years ago. Seonghwa means "accomplishing and uniting". In the Hoon Dok Hae book "The way for students" page 96, you can read more in detail about the meaning of Seonghwa.
Sincerely,
Daniel Christensen
