Rev. Dennis Dillon's church, The Brooklyn Christian Center, was the host of our 4th ACLC prayer breakfast meeting this past Saturday, April 8th 2006. Reverend Desmond Green, our outreach pastor to the Caribbean community in New York, was our Emcee for this meeting.

Rev Dillon, our host pastor, gave a warm and gracious welcome and helped everyone feel comfortable by having us greet each other with a high five and then led us all in a favorite BCC song. Our vice regional director, Rev. Grodner, gave short greetings with emphasis on the need for people of different religions to work together to bring about a peaceful world.

The breakfast invocation was given by Rev. Ken Barrett of our host church. We were then guided by Rev. Dillon to a beautifully prepared breakfast during which we heard a report from Rev. Anthony Mann about a recent interfaith pilgrimage to the Middle East. He shared how important it is to understand the customs of the different faiths and cultures so we don't offend through misunderstanding. He also shared the statement of purpose of the Middle East Peace Initiative and the Apostle Paul's letter on love.

After breakfast in preparation for our keynote speaker, Dr. Voni Johyn, Dr. Gilda Price read from the gospel where Jesus called Peter and his friends to become fishers of men. The second reading was taken from Rev. Moon's speech "God's Ideal Family the Model for World Peace" and was read by the wife of our Emcee, Mrs. Beryl Green. Prior to the keynote speech, Rev Daugherty talked about the need for the ACLC to become the voice of the prophet to the ruler. He also emphasized for those who were not yet members to sign up and become members. Rev. Daugherty then had ACLC secretary Maria Vargas read the ACLC goals and objectives.

Dr. Voni Johyn began her address centered around the goals and objectives of the ACLC, referring to the Bible passage read earlier. She asked, "Have we caught anything in our nets? The ACLC must become fishers of souls." She said she was proud to be a member of the ACLC, that we must go beyond our denominations and exhorted everyone to spread the news about ACLC. She testified that Rev. Moon through his love has made a difference to the universe.

After the keynote address the holy wine was offered to everyone present. Led by Rev Daugherty, each couple rededicated their commitment to God and their spouse. A love offering was then taken for our keynote speaker. Our regional director, Rev. In Hoi Lee, was introduced and gave appreciation to everyone in attendance. Closing remarks were given by our host pastor Dennis Dillon and a closing prayer by Dr. Philus Nicolas. The next prayer breakfast was scheduled for May 6th at Pastor Voni Johyn's Isaiah Temple Brooklyn.

Thank you
