Dear Blessed Central Families:

We are very happy to inform you that the opportunity has opened to allow all high school aged Blessed Children and BCF’s to come to Washington DC for the final three days of the Summer of Service. In our previous communication on July 11th, we mentioned that a few days before Service for Peace rally in Washington DC on Friday 7/26, we might have a special SFP program. We have organized an exciting 4-day schedule.

Working closely with the DC Public Schools, we are launching "School Readiness Month." Twelve public schools have been selected for Service for Peace projects. In addition to working closely with public school administrators, we will be working with DC Department of Public Works, Parks and Recreation and the Metropolitan Police Boys and Girls Clubs. This 1-day program (beginning at 7:30 am) will take place all day on Wednesday, July 24th. Continuous programs leading up to the SFP rally have also been organized.

Arrivals in DC should be on Tuesday, July 23rd. All new arrivals will be staying in homes of BCF in the Washington DC metro area. There are nearly 40 families that are opening their doors to have between 4-5 guests. All new participants must come as self-contained teams of 4-5 people with one adult figure who will be the team leader and responsible for the entire team 24 hours a day.

To be safest, most effective, and have a meaningful and transformative experience we need to ask your assistance to make an initiative on this scale possible.

1. Every child attending should sign the "Liability & Medical Release Form" (attached).

2. People must come in pre-arranged groups of 4 or 5 people per group.

3. Each group must have at least one adult figure that will be responsible for the entire group.

4. Each group must have their own vehicle and driver.

Contact our office to coordinate which home in DC you will be staying in. The contact person for this will be Mark Hernandez. For more information please call our office number, 202 299-9491. In case of emergency, Mark’s cell phone number is: 832 875-7673.

Please let us know ASAP if you are planning to come and how many will be coming.

Thank you.
