Re: Seven Nation Soccer Tournament in Korea

Dear District Directors and State Leaders,

We just received the memo below from the World Mission department concerning the upcoming Soccer Tournament that True Father wants to hold in Korea from August 13-16. Please read it carefully.

Father is asking that we send a soccer team from America to participate in the tournament. Please do some research in your districts and states and try to locate a soccer team or exceptional individual soccer players that we could send on behalf of America. We are hoping to find 2nd Generation soccer stars that could go to compete. We are proposing that the team be sponsored jointly by HSA headquarters and by the districts. We are responsible for their airfare and the tournament will cover their room and board.

Please send your suggestions for teams and/or individuals to Rev. Jorg Heller as soon as possible . Below are the basic points about the tournament.

May God’s blessings and True Parents’ love be with all of you.

We would like to convey the latest direction from our True Parents to you. As you know, “Peace Cup 2009 Andalucia” is now in full swing, and our True Parents are there, in Spain, watching all the games. Sun Jin Nim’s couple and other True Children are accompanying them.

True Parents are inspired to hold a Soccer Tournament in Korea. They are asking the American Region 1 to bring one team from the USA to the tournament. Teams from the following seven Providential Nations (all involved in WW II) have been invited to participate in this tournament.

Korea -- USA -- Japan -- Great Britain -- Germany -- France -- Italy

The Schedule is as follows:

* Aug 13: Arrival in Korea
* Aug 14: Qualifying match
* Aug 15: Semifinal and final game
* Aug 16: Departure in the afternoon

The Soccer Fields of the Asan Campus at Sun Moon University will facilitate the tournament. All lodging and accommodations will also take place there.

Each nation will need to provide round trip ticket and other expenses that might occur for the team. Korea HQ will take care of expenses for lodging and transportation in Korea.

Things to prepare: Each country’s goal is to find one quality soccer team or put together and organize a soccer team of high standard. Three teams from Korea will also participate:

The Il Hwa B team -- The Sun Moon University Soccer team -- The FFWPU/UPF team

These ten teams will compete for the championship of the tournament. Each Team must have

* Matching, good quality uniforms.
* A Team Flag with the team logo (size to be announced)
