The Words of the Cotter Family |
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Happy Chuseok to our True Parents and to all of your families!
It is a great blessing to once again have True Parents with us here in America. Today (September 22) is Chuseok, the Korean Thanksgiving festival. It is a very special time in Korea when Koreans gather to commemorate their ancestors, to honor their memories and to spend time with their families.
Chuseok is the harvest moon festival where Koreans make an offering of new crops to thank their ancestors for giving them good fortune. It is a time for farmers and workers to enjoy the fruits of their year-long labor. It is a season of big family reunions (much like Christmas in the West). During this time in Korea, about 75% of the population is on the road to their hometowns and their families.
