GapPyung citizens dancing to the music at the 'GapPyung Province Festival' held at Chung Pyung Heaven and Earth Training Center, May 4.

The 'GapPyung Province Festival' was held on May 4 for the elderly members of Gyeonggi GapPyung-gun, area where Chung Pyung Heaven and Earth Training Center is located. The festival was held in the plaza in front of the Tree of Love and around 800 people came.

The elderly people who came to attend the festival looked at the beautiful Chung Pyung scenery and were really amazed. Some of them asked for cameras because they forgot their own, wanting to capture the beautiful scenery.

Around 5 pm, people started to arrive at the Cheonseong Wanglim Palace (Heavenly Palace) and were first guided to the dining hall. After eating dinner, the 1st commemorative event started at 6 pm.

The event's emcee was Rev. Myeong-gwan Lee, Director of Planning and Education Department. First, Rev. Yeong-ho Ha, President of Chung Pyung Heaven and Earth Training Center, said 'We must re-confirm the meaning of 'piety' as well as the importance of three generations living in one family. I am happy to welcome you to this festival that we have prepared for you.'

Then Mr. Jin-yong Lee, GapPyung-gun Government official, gave his congratulatory address. Mr. Lee said, 'I want to congratulate the 'Chungshim' who have prepared such great institutions here in Gappyoeng Province. Also, I hope that all of you will have a great time.' Then, there were other congratulatory addresses by Mr. Jin-gu Cheon, Chairman of GapPyung Province Parliament, and Mr. Seon-jin Choe, Vice Chairman of GapPyung Province Parliament.

Then, the 2nd half of the program started. A karaoke competition was held with Mr. Sang-yong Lee, a famous emcee. Also, a famous singer, Hae-yong Kim was invited to sing for the event and the atmosphere was really excited. For the karaoke competition, 6 locals competed.

In between the karaoke competition, there were performances by Chinese Acrobatic Group. The attendants applauded and gave cheers for the wonderful performances.

For the last program, a famous Korean folk singer, Un-do Sol came to perform. The elderly people stood to their feet and danced to the music.

This GapPyung Province festival is always held at the same time with the Purification Azalea Festival, and this year will be the 3rd time.
