Note: On June 6, 2008, Dae Mo Nim gathered the pregnant sisters of the 124th Chung Pyung 40-day Workshop and gave a speech at the Small Hall of Cheonseong Wanglim Palace (Heavenly Palace)
Dae Mo Nim emphasized that for the well being of the unborn child, the mother must not only offer sincere devotion before and after the pregnancy but until that child receives the blessing so that it can grow into a great person and have a beautiful family.

I can say that all pregnant sisters who are here are people with much grace. When I spiritually look at the unborn child, it is breathing along side the people who are living on earth. In other words, it is growing through having conversations with you.
Many people ask me about destiny.
People would ask me, ‘Is destiny experiential or is it made in the womb?’ I can say that destiny is created when the child is still in the womb.
There are many people who think that parental training is about reading good books, looking at good things, eating good food and not speaking bad language. It is also important to listen to good music but we must purify our spiritual background.
The unborn child studies the life style of its parents really well.
If the mother and father loves each other, laugh together and live their life with love the child will learn how to smile.
However, the mother and father sometimes fight each other right? Then the unborn child will learn how to fight and it will have bad personalities.
Therefore, for your child to not to have bad personalities, you should express more love in your daily life.
Your baby’s behavior after it was born for 100 days is all that it learned while it was in its mother’s womb. All the crying, smiling, yawning, sucking fingers, and so on are all learned already while in the womb. You may think that your unborn child cannot hear but actually it can.
It’s not an exaggeration to say that, ‘It will be born after learning everything from it’s mother’.
In Korea, there is a saying, ‘The 3 year olds’ habit will last until 80 years old’. I think that these habits are eternal. That life style will not change even after in the spirit world.
Experiential personality traits can be changed. It’s easy to change experiential personality traits but not so easy to change personality traits that were created while in the mother’s womb. There are times where I would say to a member, ‘To change your child’s bad personality, you should extend your stay for another 40-day workshop.’
When I ask this member, she doesn’t have a good relationship with her husband. The child inherited the bad personalities from the parents because they didn’t have a good relationship. Therefore, the family’s relationship must be made well. Only when you have a good relationship with your husband, parents, siblings and other children can your unborn child learn about having good relationships.
You are pregnant right now, but straightening your life style will change and straighten your child’s future life style. It is also important which ancestor the sperm and ovum resemble.
One time, I was really surprised during a Ancestor Liberation and Blessing Ceremony. During that time your ancestors, in 7 generations, are sitting next you right? Always among them, there will be an ancestor just like you, almost like a twin. Always, there will be one ancestor that looks like you. It is really important which sperm and ovum have the same characteristics of an ancestor.
There are people who will post up beautiful pictures of their favorite actresses and pray that their child will resemble them.
Don’t we members put up the True Parents’ photograph and wish the baby to resemble True Parents? We wish them to resemble True Parents, the True Children or someone around us don’t we? Also, we wish for them to resemble our ancestors who don’t have any fallen nature.
With that in your mind and when you live your life, a good sperm and good ovum will meet and although it’s not 100 percent, a good child will be born.
Do you understand what I am saying? You have to think, ‘I want it to resemble True Father’, ‘I want it to be like True Mother’, ‘I want it to be like my husband’, or ‘I want it to be like that respectful person’, beforehand.
Therefore, you must offer sincere devotion for a good sperm and good ovum to meet. There are times when strong evil spirits will put in spirits, spirits that will listen to them, in our bodies so that evil sperms and ovum will meet. This often happens in circumstances where there are many strong evil spirits around or where its an atmosphere where Absolute Good Spirits can’t help.
Therefore, there are times where your child will resemble the worst ancestor.
The women must always live a life of love centering on beauty. Since Eve was the one to fall first, women must offer much more sincere devotion than men but the men, originally, are the owners of the family.
To create a ‘Harmonious Love’, a family that centers on the husband, can be done only by the wife. It’s done by the women. The lifestyle of the women must always be a lifestyle of sincere devotion, thus, giving birth to a beautiful child and create a beautiful family. Do you understand? (“Yes!”)
The mother should have love and work with the mind of sacrifice and dedication. A women cannot fulfill her responsibility as a mother when she only sleeps and has all the fun she wants.
The mothers should wake up one hour before everyone, clean and wash your own face. You mustn’t be lazy -- not doing laundry and preparing food for the husband -- the mother’s sacrifice and dedication for her husband and child must be really sincere.
The wife is the mother of her husband and her child. The wife can become a mother of the whole family. That mother must have the mind of self-sacrifice and dedication, love, and diligence.
We first generation don’t have a great way of education for our second generation. Whenever our second generations did something wrong, we would not care because they are second generation. But you must teach them not to do things that they are not supposed to do even if you have to use force.
The whip of love can be forgiven. Of course it is wrong to emotionally hit your child. That is abuse. You should fix your child’s bad habits through the whip of love.
It also doesn’t mean that you can hit without questioning. It is better for you to talk to your child about it but if the situation calls for it, you may hit your child with the whip of love. But you must make sure to raise your child to have a mind of living right when it wakes up in the morning and until it sleeps at night.
When I look at the children who come to the prayer hall, most of them are rude. They’d run around and try to blow out the candles and try to touch anything around them -- you shouldn’t raise your child like that.
Like the pregnant sisters rubbing their stomach for a good child, you must raise your child with love, sacrifice, and dedication.
Do you understand? How can you raise a child when you are just lazy. You cannot. The mothers in the general world also raise their children without sleep.
You must think seriously about education. You must raise your child looking into the future until it builds a beautiful and happy family and even beyond.
For your child to have a beautiful family in the future, you must be a mother who can teach manners to their child.
Do you understand? Are you able to do this?
I talk to the 40-day workshop members about this but they are unable to do it. You are not really conscious about it.
With the mind, ‘A beautiful life education, family education, and a great attitude for studies and raise your child to be a great person’ please rear your child. Is that clear? Are you able to do such thing?
The facial expressions of the mothers must be bright. You must laugh. If you have a worried face then all the stress will go to your child. I wish that you give birth to beautiful babies and become mothers who can give back to God’s Providence.
