The Words of Dae Mo Nim (Mrs. Hyo Nam Kim - Hoon Mo Nim) |
On August 7, at 8:30 pm, the 2010 Cheongshim Music Festival was held in the front of Jeongshim Won (Prayer Hall). Around 2,000 young children of the Unification Church and 8,000 adults, totaling around 10,000 members attending this great music festival. So many languages, and so many cultures but the one thing that can be conveyed is music.
The Cheongshim Music Festival has been held since 2005 for all the 2nd and 3rd generations who come to Chung Pyung during their summer holidays. To share the joy with each other listening to the great pop artists of Korea. Unfortunately, last year in 2009, the Cheongshim Music Festival was cancelled, however, to recover from that this year, the 2010 Cheongshim Music Festival was held for more than 3 hours!
The seating arrangement for the Festival was all young people to be seated on the 3,000 chairs and the other adults sitting or standing at the back. Dae Mo Nim wanted all the young people to have the time of their life so she asked the parents to give their seats for their children. The MC for the show was Mr. Gyeong-sok So, another famous MC in Korea.
The Cheongshim Music Festival first started with a opening video, messages from famous pop artists from Korea. The Korean students, which were them majority of the students, were already excited to see the famous people congratulating the Cheongshim Music Festival. After that there were many great performances from Tudarak (Drum Team), Sand Art (sand animation), SISTAR (4 girls group), 8eight (3 persons singing group), Dae-u Kim and Su-ho (two singers), Sun-nee Lee (pop singer), No-Brain (Rock Band), and then 2AM (very famous K-pop group). Although all singers were Korean, few artists sang English songs and No-Brain, a rock band sang songs that were really great so that all races could understand and have fun.
In between the performances there were video presentations. One was from parents of students attending the Korean Seunghwa Students Chung Pyung Special 14-day Workshop. Such a surprise for these specific children to see their parents giving a message to them at a great concert. Then there was a video presentation of a young 2nd Generation who lives in Korea who is disabled with her legs. It was a documentary that was taken by the Korean Media and then showed to all members that even though the family faces many problems and tribulations, when they are 'together' they are 'happy'.
For over 3 hours, the 2010 Cheongshim Music Festival was a success. For International Blessed Children it has been almost 30 days into their 40-day workshop and many of them enjoyed the great entertainment and music that they really loved. The atmosphere was great and Dae Mo Nim said that next year's Cheongshim Music Festival will be even better and greater. We hope that many of the participants enjoyed the Festival and hope to see you next year.
