The Words of Dae Mo Nim (Mrs. Hyo Nam Kim -- Hoon Mo Nim) from 2011 |
On November 12, 2004 (Lunar: October 1) at the Dedication Ceremony of the Cheong Shim International Youth Center, True Parents gave the following words, "All who are above 18 years old should have their Coming of Age Ceremony here, "as he looked around the Traditional Propriety Room and the Traditional Ceremony Room.
The Coming of Age Ceremony is the first stage in actualizing God's 3 great blessings, 'To be fruitful, multiply and have dominion over the creation, "which were given by God who created human beings, so that human beings could grow as true sons and daughters. It is an important ceremony in order for them to be able to stand as true sons and daughters in front of God when God calls them. This means that they are not in the position to receive education from their parents but, as an adult bear the responsibility as an individual self within the Unification Church. True Parents spoke the following words for the sake of those adults to be prepared with the mindset of a leader.
"What should I be doing? What sort of person should I become in front of these people? Also, what sort of person should I become in front of this world? What sort of person should I become in front of Heaven and Earth? What sort of occupation should I be doing? This sort of viewpoint is required. If you are already in your 20s then you should have a clear viewpoint: What I am going to do? and those who fight for it can become a historical person and be remembered forever. Those who please others and just live their lives according to that environment will be washed away. After deciding the occupation that you want to follow you must have the courage to strive forward no matter what obstacles you may confront. Don't say you don't want to do it; rather, you must have the kind of daring soul that can digest everything." (120-313)
As noted above, True Parents stated that you must become a person who can fulfill your responsibility and come before God. Through the Coming of Age Ceremony, you must come to have a responsible mind as a leader and become a person who can lead the providence that God desires. Furthermore, you must prepare as an adult to welcome your true partner and create a True Family.
"The issue concerns how I can complete myself as soon as possible. An ideal partner means to have to relate to the world of a partner; however, in order for your complete ideal partner to appear, you must consider whether you are a complete owner or an incomplete partner. The problem you must first consider concerns the perfection of your individual self. Before thinking about an ideal partner you yourself must become a filial child in front of your parents, and have that love connection with your parents, so that they can certify that you are a filial child. For this to happen, you must unite with you parents. To be devoted to your parents you must unite with your brothers and sisters. At your home, everyone should be saying that you are an absolute exemplar. Therefore, according to this meaning I am asking if you are completed. After you have completed yourself then the ideal partner starts." (100-149)
"What he had taught about the best method of protecting purity is 'Absolute Sexual Ethics'. Once a partner of love is connected to it is eternal, which means that it is an absolute relationship of love that will never change under any circumstances. This is because the meeting of this couple centers on God's love that is eternal and absolute. It is not just for men that this is emphasized; it also applies to women. It is Heaven's ethics that must be followed by all men and women."
The Coming of Age Ceremony recognizes the life you have lived until now, and is a ceremony wherein you make a firm resolution about the following things: First, you must become aware through this ceremony of your responsibility to develop the mindset of a leader who can lead God's providence and perfect self-management; secondly, it is a ceremony of preparation through which to meet a true partner with a pure body and the heart of the original creation.
