The Words of Dae Mo Nim (Mrs. Hyo Nam Kim - Hoon Mo Nim) from 2011 |
On July 11, 2011, members of the '2011 Chung Pyung 40-day Special Workshop for International Blessed Children and University Students' woke up at around 6:30 am at Pine Ridge Resort and gathered at a great hall located within the Pine Ridge Resort dormitory. There, Rev. Myeong-gwan Lee, General Director of Chung Pyung Heaven and Earth Training Center, gave a lecture titled, 'Grace and Change of Chung Pyung Works'. Due to some change in the time schedule his 1 hour lecture was shorten to 30 minutes.
After eating delicious breakfast with western style food, members got on their bus and departed for Seorak Mountain. Unfortunately, the whole 3 days the weather wasn't so great and the 2nd day was no less good. It rained all day which changed the schedule dramatically.
Even under such circumstances, the members enjoyed their stay at Seorak Mountain. They took a commemorative photograph in front of a bear statue and then took another photograph in front of a giant Buddha. After a 1 hour stroll, members got on the bus and then went to Seokcho Lighthouse Museum.
Members climbed up few hundreds of stairs and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Seokcho city. The rain wasn't that bad so members didn't get wet too much.
The afternoon was scheduled to go to the beach but instead, members returned to Pine Ridge Resort and enjoyed the Spa and Karaoke. Many of the western kids were amazed about the bath house but were excited to have a time to experience it. Then went to Korean style Sauna called the Jimjilbang and enjoyed the various styles of sauna. The whole afternoon was given to the members to rest and enjoy the facilities as well as getting on the Karaoke machine.
After dinner, members got on the bus and gathered at the main hall which they visited earlier that day. A special program was prepared by the staff of Pine Ridge Resort to entertain the children. 3 performances were given by the staff; caddy dancing to a Korean pop song and a band who sang popular American music.
After that, a show was given by the members themselves. The first performance was performed by brothers and sisters mainly from the University Workshop who sang 'Be a Man'. Then 'Broken Hallelujah' was sang by 4 sisters from the Blessed Children Workshop. 3 members from the Blessed Children Workshop sang 'Johnny be Good' were really great despite that they just got together and practiced for only 15 minutes. A 'Waka Waka' dance was then performed by enthusiastic members from both workshops and then another performance by the University members played and sang the song 'Waiting for the World to Change' by John Mayor. The sisters staff for the workshop came to the stage and sang 'Just the way you are' where all members stood up and sang along. The entertainment ended with another performance by the earlier guitar band and sang 'Isn't she lovely'.
The entertainment ended with 4 cheers of Eok-manse by the Workshop Leader and members went back to Pine Ridge Resort still talking about the joy and fun they had at the entertainment.
Before sleeping, the Karaoke machines were opened to the members where they all got together and sang really late.
