Global Peace Festivals

Germany: Some 40 Dutch members supported the Global Peace Festival in Germany, Friday, September 9.

31 members, including Imam Kailani, made a 21 hour condition leaving by bus at 7am and returning the next day at 4am, Families Van Es and Wirjoredjo went by car, and already in Germany were Peter van Kampen, Fred Tijsterman and Irene Wong Fong Sang, also Margaret Stoudinger.

It seemed that our Dutch members would be limited to being a supportive audience, but when Hyun Jin Nim appealed for musicians to support him singing Johnny Be Good, the cry went up for Hans Campman - and the opening guitar riffs were provided by Carlos Figueroa.

A report on the fabulous festival, for which the German Family should be congratulated, is being prepared.

Britain: Wim and Mihoko Koetsier are supporting the Global Peace Festival in London, together with their children and other Second Generation members, some of who have been helping for a number of days. Dr. A. A. Santoe is also attending.

Missionaries visiting Nederland

Three Japanese missionaries, Ms Yuka Suzuki, Ms Keiko Ichinohe and Ms Kiyomi Ohashi, have been here one week, and Peter Groenendijk (Dutch, but joined in the US) has arrived and is staying in Den Haag.

Special UPF Meetings in Nederland The name Global Peace Festival is only to be used for certain events, but last Wednesday, September 5, an event publicized as "Interlevensbeschouwelijke Bijeenkomst voor Familiewaarden en Wereldvrede" (InterWorldViews - broader than Religious - Meeting for Family Values and World Peace) was held in Amsterdam and a similar event will be held in Utrecht on Monday, September 17.

UM-NL August 2007 Summary of past events and current plans for the future Additions, information and testimonies, corrections and photos are welcome

Summary: August

Hyun Jin Nim's coming to Europe and the intended Global Peace Festival (GPF), possibly on September 5, caused us to increase lecture meetings and also see what we could do regarding the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Even though there will not be a visit and a GPF in Nederland, these activities will continue. We are sending a bus to support the GPF in Germany and Second Generation are helping in London. See more about our support below.

We have been very occupied with finding VIPs to attend various upcoming international events. AfPs attended MEPI and the Alaska meeting and all had a very good experience.

The Family Federation's "Pentecost Proposal" campaign for a Family Day in Nederland continues. A number of AfPs and other contacts are supportive. We also have the "Vragenlijst Vrede/Peace Questionnaire" and are considering holding more cultural evenings events in Amsterdam and other cities.

Three Japanese sisters, missionaries/Ambassadors for Peace, arrived at the end of August and have been witnessing door to door (see more below)

Hans Campman has started a full time mission. He has been adding computing to his musical keyboard skills with a computer course and has been teaching at Tuesday evening lectures in Den Haag and Oeffelt. He taught at the HARP July/August 21 Day workshop in Spain. It is possible that Divine Principle lectures will start in Rottedam.

Wim Koetsier hopes that members will also be able to give lectures using new UPF PowerPoint presentations with Dutch text. Translation has been done by Bert Janssen, Guus Schenk, Edwin van Overschelde and Wim Koetsier, with computor editing help from David Misumi.
