The Words of the Doroski Family |
A great many of our members and especially leaders have centered their lives around "making the good report" and minimizing or not reporting problems. In my experience we were trained by Korean leaders to do this, even though this went against our Christian and American culture. Unfortunately "the good report" has often become the central focus rather than establishing a pure, solid foundation that can't be destroyed. The motivation of making the "good report" can of course be to uplift, making True Father feel good but mostly it is for making the reporting leader look good.
When making the "good report" do leaders report to True Father how they themselves did not produce the results, but it was the members or their assistants hard work or do they attempt to take full credit for the victory? Some leaders go to the extreme of taking others hard work and reporting it as their own. It is known by all our members around the world that the numbers of events are almost always exaggerated and that when "guests" are expected for events, so often members are shifted from nearby communities, states or even nations to fill the vacant seats. No members today trust photos of events as being truthful of what actually occurred because of their experience of leaders pulling the wool over True Father as towards what actually occurred.
For example a couple of years ago it was reported that 200,000 Filipinos attended the Global Peace Festival, then later the figure was reduced to 100,000 and more recently I have heard the actual figure was 20,000 and also learned that all kinds of "techniques" were used to get diverse organization involved, including the "gay movement" for entertainment. We were informed the government, churches, organizations were all working together with us, our movement was viewed so positive because of GPF and each year greater results would be coming. However after the event if one investigated they would have learned that much of the event was a well orchestrated photo opportunity and that the actually situation in the Philippines' was a great division and suffering among the members, and our movement did not have all the positive of an image as being presented. The reality was the Philippine church did not have the membership, infrastructure and financial ability to follow up properly whatever the true number of attendees to the event were.
This same kind of misleading and false reports have been going on in America over many years. For example the organization, The American Freedom Coalition and later the American Family Coalition was assigned to appoint 20,000 Peace Ambassadors. When the leadership found out how hard it was to do such, rather than holding a national brainstorming conference with all state leaders, they set the pattern of short conferences where slick slide shows were presented on the American Constitution and our Founding Fathers and wove into the presentation 5 Principle Points, declaring any invited guests who "agreed" to these 5 points could be counted as a "Peace Ambassador". Photos were taken, numbers gathered and good reports of success were presented to True Father. Guess what, the organization, AFC was caught with it's pants down; when all these "good report Peace Ambassadors" were asked to be accountable to the Messiah in various ways, they did not respond, when the Messiah addressed many of them in conferences and True Father spoke hard core stuff to them, they left (True Father understanding all Peace Ambassadors had heard full Divine Principle, Unification Thought, and IG) and the American Family Coalition and Peace Ambassadors eventually folded.
Frankly what our movement has evolved into concerning reporting is not what True Father trained us to do in the beginning years. I myself learned while pioneering Texas, that as soon as I officially reported I had gained a spiritual child, that new spiritual child, immediately became attacked and focused on by evil forces challenging my report or claims. It seems our leaders and members have forgotten "evil" forces still rule the world, are constantly surrounding us and looking for any base to attack us or destroy our work with. True Father has explained being a leader in our movement is "like walking on a knife's edge", every thought, action and especially reports are basis for spiritual attacks.
I take issue with the argument that Hyun Jin Nim is the victim of others twisting the truth and giving false information to True Father, this is not saying that such has never been done. Hyun Jin Nim's organization, GPFF is an organization built upon false reporting, manipulation of results, increasing the numbers of attendees and especially of existing to produce flashy photos to control True Father and acquire funding; it by it's very mission is a political mission of smoke and mirrors to effect other smoke and mirror individual leaders and organizations. His problems are not coming from his siblings but from the lack of integrity within what he is building.
Haste makes waste, a house build on sand will not stand; this is what I perceive is the core problem of our current movement; lack of noon-day-sun living and lack of birthing "true new members" who understand Divine Principle deeply, can teach it and are empowered in all ways to stand on their own feet, not being dependent on leaders in any way.
In the end whomever ends up with the money, it does not matter, for it is back to basics: repentance, fasting, studying, teaching, mentoring, living for the sake of others; thus the reason True Father said, the Tribal Messiah Mission is the most important mission, the grassroots for there is not need for centering around making good reports.
