The Words of the Doroski Family |
International Leadership Conference January 30

January 31, 2001
I was blessed with the opportunity to attend most of the International Leadership Conference in the New Yorker Hotel yesterday. The conference centered around True Father's theme, "the second generation must inherit and take over the leadership of our movement."
True Father had everyone under 40 years old stand up and announced Hyung Jin Nim could pick anyone from among the movements leaders under 40 across the world to serve directly under him and that they should be liberated from their current mission to serve in the 4th Adam's providence.
True Father also asked those over 50 to raise their hands and then those under 50. He stated that older leaders should progressively be replaced with younger 2nd generation leaders. Of course True Father spoke at length on this theme and I hope his words will be posted in completeness.
Rev. Kwak's son gave a beautiful representative speech which contained his experience pioneering in Mongolia representing his family's National Messiah responsibility to this country and of the deep lessons he learnt of maturity vs. his previous more youthful immaturity. He and others question the readiness of the 2nd generation to take on such responsibility, gave praise and deep appreciation for the great sacrifice of the 1st generation and voiced the vital help the 2nd generation will continue to need from the 1st generation during this transition phase of our movement.
