The Words of the Flores Family |
There is so much to celebrate for last Sunday, April the 4th. First, it was the Christening when the worldwide Christianity celebrates Easter, Jesus Christ resurrection from the dead, the sign of His victory. Second, here in Japan, the cherry blossom is in full bloom and it is the best time of the season for families and friends to enjoy the view and simply relax under these trees with all its beauty and splendor. If we have to count the blessing of that day, it is the fact that our FIL-JAP second generation children are having a very good time attending on their second day of a live-in seminar under the guidance and care of the Unification Church of Japan. But more than that, at one room in the same building, the Central Region of Filipino Japanese Unification Ministry is having its modest and simple Leadership turn-over ceremony.
For the benefit of those brothers and sisters who were not able to join the convention in Shizuoka, Bro. Jun Flores gave a briefing of what transpired. He shared to the congregation the draft Vision, Mission and Goals of the new ministry that was discussed and adopted in the convention. He tried to convey the spirit that generated in Shizuoka and encouraged the whole membership to start anew to fulfill the mandate of Heaven in these three crucial years till 2013 and that their commitment is a great factor to bring about the needed result.
After the presentation of VMG, the outgoing Regional Leader Mr. Jesse Mariano and wife were recognized for all the hard work, dedication and commitment that they have contributed for the growth of the Blessed Families in Central Region Japan. They have tirelessly worked in guiding brothers and sisters to remain faithful and true and their encouragement contributed a lot to our overall support for the Philippine Providence. He said that he is not going anywhere even after leaving his responsibility as a Regional Leader because he will still be committed to be with brothers and sisters and more committed to support the new leadership. He acknowledged his limitations and humbly asked for understanding from brothers and sisters and yet thanked everyone for all the support and unity they have shown during his term in position. They were then offered a buffet of flowers by the couple of Joey Andaya in behalf of the whole Central Region expressing their gratitude for their service and dedication.
The New Regional Leader Mr. Roy Carumba and family were welcomed and introduced officially to the whole congregation and they were met with great applause by brothers and sisters. As a symbolic gesture of passing the baton of responsibility, Brother Jesse Mariano hold the hands of the couple of the new leader and prayed over them for greater faith, deeper wisdom, compassion and guidance from the spiritual world that they be with this couple to carry out a very important role in the providence at this most crucial age and prayed that they will lead us all to a victorious undertakings. It was a solemn yet simple turn-over of responsibility as everyone joined and shared their personal wishes in their prayers.
Mr. Roy Carumba emerged from that prayer full of confidence as he made his brief acceptance speech. He said that total victory cannot be made possible by one man alone but through the support and unity of brothers and sisters. He promised that he will do his best to bring glory to God and True Parents. He announced to the whole congregation of the ever first result of their witnessing by introducing Bro. Rey in the audience who has finished his series of Divine Principle lecture just a few days ago and accepted Rev. Moon as the Messiah. He expressed his desire to be a part of the congregation as a lead singer of the band that our Blessed Families here organized. He wanted also to join the future blessing. Everyone welcomed him with open arms recognizing that there is indeed a great potential for witnessing out there and the best is yet to come. The two Vice-Regional Ministers were also introduced in public in the person of Mr. Bal Tuballa and Mr. Joey Andaya who will work side by side with the Regional Minister.
The celebration of the day would not be complete without the funfare. Everyone proceeded to the nearby park under the blooming cherry blossoms and our families enjoyed the scenery and of course, the bountiful blessings that they all shared together. It was indeed a day of celebration for many reasons and such is the day that the LORD has made.
