The Words of the Flores Family |
Congratulations to the United Filipinos for Peace and Advancement (UFPA), Mie Chapter for receiving a meritorious award from the City Mayor of Suzuka City, in recognition for their untiring service and worthy contributions to the city and the community as a whole. Among the foreigners living in that City, UFPA with its vision of Living for the sake of others through service and with the able leadership of Mr. Roy Carumba and the support of many of our dedicated Unificationist brothers and sisters stood tall among others and was cited by the Mayor's office as one of the model organization as commended by Civic leaders and the Japanese Community for all the worthy projects and activities that they have contributed to the hole community.
UFPA undertook several clean-up drives of the beaches before every summer when people begin to flock these places to enjoy the sea. They helped maintained the cleanliness of the parks and the surrounding vicinities that has caught the admiration from people in the surrounding areas especially watching the children doing the service projects side-by-side with their parents. UFPA served as an active player in collaborating with the Mie International Exchange Foundation in the promotion of mutual understanding among foreigners of different nationalities with the local residents of Suzuka City. Among other things, the organization has constantly promoted values education programs through seminars to help educate fellow Filipinos and their children as well. They are active in promoting interfaith works among other Filipino religious groups to foster harmony and understanding despite differences in religion.
During the recession time here in Japan when many of the members lost their job, recognizing the goodness of UFPA membership, the City of Suzuka extended its help to some of our members by offering jobs for them as public school assistant teachers in English for which some of them continue the gratified feeling by the dignity of their new found work. The fruits of our labor through the public services that we have done so far is gaining favor and producing fruits of benefits for our members that we have not anticipated. We continue to make inroads not just in the promotion of our Organization's name, but because we are Blessed Central Families inspired by the ideals of our True Parents and endowed with the great portion of responsibility to bear witness and impact not only our lives but the lives of others as we follow the exemplary course of our True Parents to live a life for the sake of others and promote love, peace understanding and hope to all of humanity.
CONGRATULATIONS UFPA!!! Way to go. The best is yet to come….
