The Words of the Gavin Family |
From Friday June 6th through Sunday June 8th, the Midwest was blessed with love and guidance from the FFWPU-USA. In attendance were 45 second generation and 20 parents. We were graced with the presence of Rev. Schanker, Rev. Seo, Rev. Windman and Dave Hunter. Through their lectures and internal guidance, youth could begin to prepare their hearts for the most precious and important mission of their lives. Also the parents could start to understand what questions their children are having and how they can support them.
We began Friday night with exciting insights from Rev. Schanker, with the message of why we get blessed. This lecture helped prepare the spirit and get participants in the zone to receive the rest of the content throughout the weekend. The night closed with the teams being announced, the first team meetings, and closing in teams.
Saturday was a day full of content. Rev. Windman and Dave Hunter took turns sharing the Principle and how that relates to our second generation and their being blessed. They went though God’s Ideal of Creation, the misuse of love and breakdown of God’s lineage, and how God has been working to restore His lineage through us. The evening got even better when it was time for testimonies. This was an opportunity to see happy blessed couples and how they got there. Jin Chil Park, Leena Vincenz-Gavin, and Jario Vincenz-Gavin prepared the stories of their matching, blessing, and life after the blessing. Dave Hunter then showed a slideshow of pictures showing all the happy couples from around the country. This evening, of course, got everyone excited, and we had a joyful evening.
Sunday was our final day together. In the morning we had our last presentation. This presentation was on how youth can prepare themselves for the blessing. There are so many questions and conditions to prepare before the matching and blessing process. At the end of the presentation a time was opened for questions and answers so that the parents and youth might clear up any more concerns.
The closing ceremony followed questions and answers with Rev. Seo’s guidance for youth and a testimony of growing up and being raised as a second generation. Youth then gave their testimonies of how this workshop impacted their lives and prepared them for the coming years. Graduation was a beautiful and joyful ceremony, and we all felt better after. We rushed to lunch and prepared to go home.
Thank you so much, all participants and staff, for your involvement to make this a great weekend.
