The Words of the Gavin Family |
Pasadena, CA -- September 19, 2009 -- In a small, laid-back community center in the heart of Pasadena, Justin Little and the Morning played its best songs with its classic, mellow sound and lyrics that hit the heart and stirred the soul.
The night was opened by solo artist Vince Aparo, a regular at the Hub, who crooned out some great covers and got the stage warmed up for the main act. Then, as the band took the stage and the night went on, the crowd swayed and tapped their feet along with the beat as Justin Little and the Morning rolled out hit after hit off its new album.
The band members chose to have their album release party at the Hub because it was their favorite venue. The Hub is a community center nestled in the heart of Old Town Pasadena, and it is known as the town’s best kept secret because it is in a 2nd floor loft space on Colorado Boulevard, not easily seen from the street. The Hub hosts a number of events and classes, including a monthly Community Concert Series that supports emerging local artists from the Los Angeles area, a monthly artists’ showcase, film screenings, a number of talks, and health and wellness classes.
Director of the Hub, Jatoma Gavin, first discovered Justin Little at an open mike night that he was organizing as an outreach event for the young adult ministry of the Los Angeles Family Church. He and Justin stayed friends as time went on and the band grew bigger. After Jatoma helped open the Hub, he invited Justin to start performing there as well.
Now after Justin Little and the Morning has released its first album, has its own T-shirts, and is on the road to stardom, the Hub is proud to have housed the band’s first album release party and looks forward to supporting the band’s accomplishments in the future.
