The Words of the Gowey Family

Reflections and Challenges

As the year 2001 comes to a close, we owe it to ourselves to reflect somewhat on the condition of our movement and families. With the knowledge and deep appreciation for the immense work being done by our True Parents, leaders, families, and members, the following are a few thoughts, I respectfully pray that no one might take as judgment or criticism, but rather to force us to reflection and improvement.

My Church...My Movement:

Father has been teaching us, over and over again, about the MIND><BODY relationship, and how essential it is to our TOTAL DEVELOPMENT, and ultimately our relationship to God Himself.

As a church-movement, or culture, we have many, many concerns, which we may divide into TWO areas:

1) "In the Church" and 2) "outreach".

The reality is that "in the Church" issues are fundamental to "outreach" concerns. Unless our "in the Church" concerns are stabilized and settled, "outreach" efforts might be futile, or even doomed.

In essence what this means is that, if we as couples, parents, and families, do not sever old traits and habits (not unlike the rest of the world), how will we be viewed by those whom we have been telling that we have the ultimate truths and standards?

One analogy we might consider is related to our homes; We must absolutely clean and fix-up our house, before we invite guests over.

The MIND><BODY relationship Father wants us to establish is not simply designed for ME; it must be established on the ENTIRE movement.

There are too many broken families in our movement, while others still holding by a thread. Some are satisfied with whatever level they have reached, and many have given up on their ideals. Some are letting their children do whatever they want, while others have no clue about the pain their children bear.

I pray that each and every family and community revisits the Original Ideal that Heavenly Father Has been seeking, as taught by True Parents.

Second Generation Blessing - A Critical Issue:

There is a Second Generation Blessing coming up this February 16, 2002. These are the PUREST children of GOD and TRUE PARENTS, not just ours.

Are they ready to accept God's Blessing?

Do they know what "THE BLESSING" really means?

Are we, as their parents, ready for this immense transformation?

Are they concerned that their prospective spouse might treat them as the "Prince", or "Princess", they are meant to be?

What about those who fell? First, do their parents even know about it?

Will some try to sneak through, pretending it never happened, or that it was an innocent mistake?

Are they worried that they might be rejected by their prospective spouse because they don't fit a particular shape, or someone's particular desire or expectation?

Will the marriage last a few months, years, or is it eternal?

How about their financial stability?

What are they planning to do with their lives? to attend and assist our True Parents, or go with the flow?

Happy True God's Day And Victorious 2002
Sincerly
