The Words of the Holt Family |
Rev. Eric Holt, adjunct Lecturer in Management and UTS Board of Trustees member, passed into the spiritual world on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 after battling cancer. He was a well-respected and loved friend and colleague. Eric was surrounded by his family, friends, pastor and church leaders and elders who prayed with and for him in his final hours.
Eric graduated from the Master of Divinity program at UTS in 1994 and later received his M.B.A. from Heriot Watt University in the United Kingdom. He served as a Unification Church pastor in the United Kingdom, Louisville, Kentucky, Providence, Rhode Island and Tarrytown, New York and was also an active missionary and preacher throughout the United Kingdom and the United States. After serving as the pastor of the West Rock Church in Tarrytown, Eric embarked on a whole new career path that would ultimately bring him to his last position as the CFO and Treasurer for the Family Federation of America.
Eric demonstrated his extensive accounting and management experience in both the business and nonprofit sectors through his design of complex accounting and IT solutions for small businesses and non-profit organizations. In his course on Financial Management, Eric guided students through the complex field of investment and equities trading, asset management and the basics of sound fiscal management. He also authored several guidebooks for use in non-profit management. Eric, though, is remembered by his friends and colleagues for his skills as a chess master and his wry Scottish humor. Eric always had a kind word for people and treated others with the utmost respect and love. A devoted husband and father of three, Eric was the personification of integrity throughout his life as well as a loving and faithful man of God.
Services will be Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 8:30 am at the Edwards Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry, New York with interment immediately following in Sleepy Hollow cemetery.
