The Education Department is happy to announce three winners in the 2007 BC Creative Arts Contest. Winners were selected in two categories: music video with a principled theme, and educational literature.
The grand prize winner was Ted Allen from California for his music video, "Break Free." The video was directed by Ted Allen and co-produced by Allen and Oliver Thompson. The original song was written and composed by Chris Stair. Congratulations to Ted, and all that worked on "Break Free." Allen was awarded $750 for his work.
The second place winner was Aftab Sedehi, a thirteen-year-old from Los Angeles. Her submission was a comic-style illustrated PowerPoint story on harmonious give and take action. Sedehi won $350 for her submission.
Third place was awarded to Emanuel Voelker for his short novel, titled, "A Story of Heavenly Socialism." Voelker was awarded $150 for his work. Congratulations to all three contest winners for their hard work.
More contests will be announced this year to generate videos and literature directed towards youth and young adults.
