Today, February 28th, 2006, was another great day in the history of North Carolina ACLC. We were blessed with the presence of our great guest pastor, Rev. Levy Daugherty. The General Secretary of the National ACLC, he came from Washington, DC, to deliver a great message of vision and hope to our leaders in North Carolina’s ACLC.

We gathered at the Cornerstone Baptist Church from 9 am to 12 pm. Minister Linda Martin, member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and Co-Pastor of "Gods Own Ministry", single-handedly prepared a bountiful breakfast for the whole group of about 20 people.

Everyone enjoyed a good Southern breakfast. Then Brother John Winfrey, Pastor of the Cornerstone Baptist Church and Host Pastor of the program, officially opened the gathering with some inspiring reports about the development of the "S.A.L. T. Ministry. It stands for "Spiritual Anointed Leadership Team". Many churches are joining together to respond to the needs of other ministries and the community such as the need for food, clothes and shelter etc. Then Bishop Willie Davis, Jr. followed to give words of welcome to the gathering after which Rev. Harry Milner gave the invocation. Pastor Linda poured her heart out and sang a song about her love for Jesus. There was deep silence and admiration for Jesus who is working behind all our efforts to build the Body of Christ. Pastor Linda prepared the Spirit to receive Goals and Objectives of ACLC, read by Rev. Burgi Hutcherson.

Then the awaited moment came. Rev. Levy Daugherty delivered a very powerful message: "Gods Vision and Hope for America". He was able to reach the hearts of all the ministers. He emphasized the importance of leadership in the government, the schools, the community, the church, the family and my own self. The civil rights movement has not been finished. It is all about becoming righteous. There was deep acceptance of the spirit filled message. It clarified again the vision of ACLC and our work in the next few years to come. We collected a love offering and gratefully presented it to Rev. Daugherty.

Following that, we had questions and answers and the announcements. The focus was the importance of the membership drive, and 7 leaders responded.

We concluded with a prayer given by Pastor Fermin Bocanegra from Iglesia Wesleyana Cristiana in Kernersville.

After the event Rev. Daugherty still had a little bit of time before his plane departed for New York, so our FFWPU staff decided to join together in a trip to the Pilot Mountain. It was a rewarding trip, where the voice of God could speak more freely to us in our hearts.
