Region 8 brought God so much joy on May 4th in Winston Salem, North Carolina, when we welcomed True Mother and Hyun Jin Nim. The event began with Rev. Levy Daugherty as MC, lifting the atmosphere and getting the event off to a great beginning. National recording artist Gerald Hinton singing "I Will Meet You in the Middle" set the stage for the evening. The M. C. Benton Convention Center was packed with individuals and families that came out to hear the message and to discover new ways that they could understand Gods heart and His will.

The preprogram started with a press conference and a VIP reception, where Rev. Jenkins along with Archbishop George Augustus Stallings, Bishop Willie Davis, Pastor Fermin Bocanegra, Minister Willie Muhammad, Minister Mikal Muhammad, Rev. Jessie Edwards, Rev. Burgi Hutcherson and other panelists answered many questions.

New Ambassadors of Peace were appointed, with six community leaders receiving their appointments on the stage from Sharon Pace, Rev. Jenkins, and Dr. Yang.

Rev. Jenkins took the lead as the MC for the main program. He brought with him to the stage that wonderful spirit of excitement, hope and expectation for a miracle that he always brings wherever he goes.

The invocation was given by Bishop Willie Davis. He offered such a spirit-filled prayer for families and the difference that they can make in the world and gave honor to God.

Archbishop George Augustus Stallings testified that Father Moon is truly the real king of peace, because he is working in every hotspot in the world with love for all people, making such enormous impact. He shared with such beauty and depth his understanding of the celebration of blessing for the family, nation and world and opened the way for all participants to prepare for the blessing. He stressed over and over again the importance of the family.

True Mother received many proclamations and citations from state and local leaders, which were presented by Rev. Jenkins.

After the presentations Rev. Jenkins lead the Blessing by guiding the representative couple, Minister Willie and Lateefa Muhammad, and everyone in the audience through the Holy Wine ceremony. This was followed by a music offering from Cindy Yakpore, who sang "Amazing Grace"

Dr. Chang Shik Yang, the chairman of the Universal Peace Federation, shared about the 120 nation tour, the main speakers, and Gods hope for humanity. He spoke with such conviction and strength and the participants were very moved by his heart and his words.

Rev. Jenkins introduced Dr. Hyun Jin Moon and pointed out how wonderful it is to see the son inheriting from the parents and becoming an active partner in building a world of peace.

The audience exploded with shouts and cheering as Hyun Jin came onto the stage. Truly he has the power to move the hearts of many; through his clear and articulate sharing of the speech he showed that he was the owner of the words he was sharing. Everyone was moved by the message but it was Hyun Jin Nim’s heart and ownership of the words that gave them magic and helped them take root in the souls of everyone listening.

Diane Kung presented the flowers to Hyun Jin Nim after his presentation. Then Rev. Jenkins introduced the video presentation "Blessed Families and the Ideal of Peace" The presentation was amazing. We have always heard that a picture says a thousand words – this presentation said more than a million. The audience was completely captivated and everyone was sitting at the edge of their seats.

After the video presentation Rev. Jenkins welcomed True Mother as the true mother of all humanity to the stage. After the welcome given to Hyun Jin, I was worried as that was a difficult welcome to follow but the audience left their seats and gave True Mother a very loud standing ovation, which will be remembered by everyone for a long time to come.

Mother looked so young and came to the podium completely in charge. She went right into the presentation, and you could immediately feel the urgency and the great importance of the message. True Mother spoke with such clarity and conviction that she pushed out any doubts that may have existed in the hearts of those attending. Mother showed the power women can have when they stand with God and speak out in His name. Her words were healing and filled the hall with so much hope and expectation. Flowers were presented to True Mother by Bishop Willie Davis and his wife Betty.

Rev. Jenkins, along with all those in the hall, gave True Mother a rousing southern thank-you as she left the stage to get ready to give the blessing to all the families. Rev. Jenkins then helped organize the couples and families on the stage for the Holy Blessing Ceremony. True Mother and Hyun Jin Nim lead the Holy Water ceremony, the blessing vows, the prayer of blessing and the blessing declaration. They looked so peaceful but at the same time so powerful as they stood together on the stage, mother and son.

After the Blessing ceremony, gifts were presented to True Mother and Hyun Jin Nim by Rev. Fermin Bocanegra, representing Christianity and Edith Muhammad, representing the Nation of Islam families. Then followed three cheers of Mansei, led by Rev. Jenkins. Then we took a commemorative picture of all the families on stage.

Rev. Daugherty and Rev. Edwards continued to keep the participants moving with a call to action, followed by the drawing for the door prizes that had been prepared.

This concluded the main event.

The next morning all the members and many of the guests gathered together at 5am in the convention center for HDH and to celebrate the victory in NC. After HDH True Mother and Hyun Jin Nim invited leaders to share over breakfast in True Mothers suite.
