Report of September ACLC Prayer breakfast
Burgi Hutcherson
September 18, 2007
On Tuesday, September 18, 2007 the Triad Family Church hosted the September ACLC Prayer breakfast in the Kernersville Community House with Rev. Welborn Rozier as the host pastor.
In the early morning our Triangle Family Church community leader Mrs. Tracy Jessop gave Rev. Bennit Hayes a ride from Raleigh, where he was the keynote speaker at a dinner for ACLC and Ambassadors for Peace leaders. Rev. Cathryn Teer was the MC of the breakfast.
The breakfast started with welcoming remarks from the host pastor and then it was opened with three unity prayers: Rev. Ellen Hunt, pastor of Salvation and Praise Ministry, represented Christianity, Rabbi Bonnie Joyce represented the Jewish faith, and Mrs. Tracy Jessop represented FFWPU.
There were 15 guests in attendance from 10 different denominations. Three religious leaders were attending for the first time. After a delicious breakfast Evangelist Cynthia Hill delivered a beautiful song and then Rev. John pace played the DVD "On Common Ground." He also elaborated on the five principles of peace and presented three new Ambassadors for Peace appointments. He educated us on the "International Day of Peace," which was established from the United Nations in 1981 and is celebrated around the world for a few years now every 21st of September. Rev. John Pace concluded his presentation with a "Toast to Peace" for each participant.
Dr. Bennit Hayes was the keynote speaker of the breakfast. Dr. Hayes shared deeply about being an AFP and also how important it is for clergy to study and learn the Divine Principle teaching from Dr. Moon. He also stressed that we need to enhance our relationship with God through our religion. Many people talk to God but do not talk with God.
It is just a one-sided conversation, but we need to listen to God as well. We need to worship God, not our denomination. True Parents, Jesus, and Muhammad are helping us to come into a relationship with God. We need to return to a relationship with God as it was before the Fall of Adam and Eve. We are in the last days. God is inside of all of us and we need to stop fighting and using negative words. A soft answer turns away wrath. God is a loving God.
Rev. Burgi Hutcherson of the Family Federation concluded with announcements. We discussed the upcoming national conference, the MEPI trips at the end of October and in December, and the Women’s Retreat and conference in Norfolk, Virginia, from November 29 through December 1. Also other pastors added some announcements about their upcoming revivals in their churches.
The closing prayer was given by our host pastor, Rev. Welborn Rozier.
