The Words of the Hwang Family

International Signature Campaign for the Prevention of the Construction of a Freeway through the Holy Ground at Songsan-ri (Chung Pyung)

January 6, 2003
Official Memo FFWPUI 2003-4

May God and True Parents' love, blessing and heavenly fortune of the third year of Cheon Il Guk be with you all.

There is a plan to build a highway (freeway) through the area of Chung Pyung holy ground (the village of Songsan-ri). We wish to initiate an international campaign to protest the building of such a road through the middle of our holy ground, and ask that all leaders and members work to gather signatures that can be sent to Korea as part of that effort. In addition to members, please also approach people in positions of responsibility who know and appreciate our faith, and ask them to support this campaign. Below is a sample signature form that you can use to gather signatures.

The Unification Church holy ground at Chung Pyung is regarded by our members - not only in Korea, but also throughout the world - as the homeland of their faith. Each year, many members from around the world visit there for special pilgrimages and for a time of prayer and spiritual renewal.

This unique holy ground for the cleansing of the spirit, and for the reinvigoration of the heart and body, is facing destruction through the construction of a freeway. Here in Korea, the members and conscientious representatives of other faiths are deeply worried and urgently wish to find a way to prevent this happening. To that end, a worldwide signature campaign through which the similarly deep concerns of the members and our supporters worldwide can be expressed, is being initiated immediately.

We ask you, the brothers and sisters, members of our Unificationist community and all conscientious people, to actively participate in this effort and lend your full support.
