The Words of the Jenkins Family |
General Orientation Program [GOP] - Space Still Available For Your Son Or Daughter

Dear Family,
One of the finest experiences we offer our younger generation is the opportunity to spend a year (or more) in the special Junior High program called the General Orientation Program [GOP] at the Little Angels School. The dormitory and school experience is a complete and well rounded experience of living as brothers and sisters with young people from many families throughout the U.S. and Europe and many other countries of the world.
A beautiful spiritual atmosphere is maintained so that beyond the "study" of Korean and basic curriculum for education, your son and daughter will get a much deeper sense of our faith and the Fatherland culture from which it has come forth. The learning of the Fatherland Language and True Parents life and history as well as experiential learning of True Parent's heart and tradition is combined with Divine Principle education and training. There are many field trips to give the student an international experience that broadens their scope and character. For many this "establishes" a firm spiritual foundation for the young person to maintain a good life of faith from then on.
Please consider allowing your sons and daughters to have this once in a lifetime opportunity. My wife, Reiko and I highly recommend it. It had a great impact on our own children and family. Please check the website out by going to the Familyfed.org and double clicking the bar on the far right, half the page down which says GOP 2007/2008, online application. The letter below from Mrs. Alexa Ward is available on that website as well and helps explain the great value of this program.
Please pray and consider this experience for our younger generation. They will never forget it.
There is still space available. Deadline for Registration is in April 15th. We sincerely thank Mrs. Ward for the heart, care and investment she continues to make to make this program better and better and available for a larger number of blessed children who "dream" of going. We also thank Abdoulaye and Sybil Wone for their successful efforts to be good dorm parents and really help the young people to have the best possible experience.
We pray that your children will get every opportunity possible to experience God and True Parent's love.
Sincerely,
Rev. Michael Jenkins

Dear Parents of Prospective GOP Students,
Thank you for your interest in having your child attend the General Orientation Program (GOP) in Seoul, South Korea for the school year 2007– 2008. GOP is the name of the first year program of the Institute of Korean Studies for Foreign Students. The program consists of a dormitory called the World Student Garden of Brothers and Sisters, which is on the campus of the Sun Hwa Scho ol. The classrooms used by the GOP program are located in the Sun Hwa School. The director of the Institute is Mr. Kim Jung Woo. The Western Program Director couple for the western students is Abdoulaye and Sybil Wone.
This program gives Blessed children of Unification families the precious opportunity to spend at least one year in Korea. They live in a dormitory with other western students, and share the facility with students from Japan. They are introduced to Korean language, grammar, and culture. They keep up with most of their western subjects as well. They experience the heart of Koreans through the teachers and staff, as well as on exciting and fun school trips. They deepen their identity as Blessed children and make lifelong friendships. They experience Unification culture and traditions in the Fatherland and begin to develop their own life of faith.
Applications are now being accepted for the school year beginning in September 2007 for those Blessed children who will be between 12 and 13 years of age, entering seventh or eighth grades, on September 1st, 2006. You will find that the entire application process is online.
Please go to the section entitled Overview of the Application Process for an overview as well as for instructions for completing the application process. Please complete the application process by April 15, 2006. There will be a $35.00 nonrefundable application fee in order to process your application. Please pay special attention to the section on Tuition for next year.
On the application website, you will find reflections from several GOP students, as well as the Student Handbook. We hope these items will help you to better understand the GOP program. If you have any questions, please contact Alexa Ward or Jennifer Ang.
With best wishes, ITPN,
