Dear Family,

Happy Memorial Day. I hope that your cookouts bring a time of joy and happiness for you and your family. For those who can't be home we are praying for you. For those who will never come home we are honoring you on this day.

America was founded by God's Holy Spirit and as long as America remains true and faithful to that spirit God will preserve guide and protect this nation and her mission.

Our veterans gave their lives for the ideas of Freedom, Justice and Equality. As DeToqueville said, "America is great because America is good". America is good when it follows and supports the will of God. Because America has stood for the will of heaven in all the great wars the sacrifice of our men and women has been particularly significant in advancing freedom in the world.

Now America must advance the Peace Kingdom and the full knowledge that the Lord has come. With this providence all sacrifice will lead to the blessing not only of every American but every race, people and nation on earth. America is that chosen nation that is called by God to lead a moral revolution in the world. But we must first have a moral revolution in America. Now our Blessed Central Families are opening their homes in thousands of neighborhoods across America to show how that such a revolution is taking place and that everyone has a role and a responsibility. We are in a battle for America's soul. The Clergy and Ambassadors for Peace have been trained for this moment. The ACLC is now engaged and fully armed to win this battle. This is the time in which we must revive the spirit of this great nation and build True Families of faith and love for all humanity. The internal foundation has been secured by our True Parents. This is our most important hour.

When I visited Gettysburg many year ago, I prayed there with our members and had a profound experience. In my heart I felt the presence of the those who gave their lives there, both from the North and the South. I could feel them crying out, " Please don't allow America to be lost, Don't allow our lives to be sacrificed in vain." They laid down their lives not just for the North or the South but as Lincoln said in his second Inaugural Address they paid a price for the violation that slavery brought to the nation of God's calling.

In his Second Inaugural Address Lincoln wrote, "If we shall suppose that American slavery is one of those offenses which, in the providence of God, must needs come, but which, having continued through His appointed time, He now wills to remove, and that He gives to both North and South this terrible war as the woe due to those by whom the offense came, shall we discern therein any departure from those divine attributes which the believers in a living God always ascribe to Him? Fondly do we hope, fervently do we pray, that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet, if God wills that it continue until all the wealth piled by the bondsman's two hundred and fifty years of unrequited toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn with the lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said "the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether." Their blood was spilt not only as a price for defense of the Union but also as a condition of indemnity for the purification of the nation so that God could continue by her side. Was it not this way with every war. Ultimately the sacrifice of these brave men and women is a price that is paid to indemnify our past failures and to secure the future.

Every American life that was laid down to preserve this nation can be understood to be a sacrifice to preserve the will of heaven. So it is now with our young people in Iraq. They are going through a course that is directly related with God's providence for the Elder Son Nation. For our errors they pay, upon our righteousness and trueness for the will of heaven they will advance goodness.

Let us remember and honor all of those that gave their lives anywhere for God in history and in particular for those who gave their lives so that America as God's Elder Son Nation will continue.

With the proper conditions in this nation's revival can occur and the principles of equality, love, freedom and faith for all people will be advanced. We are fighting a tremendous battle within America to unite with the Lord and break down all the barriers of race and religion. We are to become one family of faith, though America was founded upon the spirit of Jesus - it is the love of Jesus for all people, beyond laws, dogma and tradition that will allow us to become one family. God is guiding America but also the forces of darkness resist that guidance. That is why people of faith are rising in love to embrace all races and religions as never before.

The internal trials have faced America before, and the result was that through various religious/ spiritual revivals America was renewed and her course corrected to the direction of the Lord.

Lincoln recognized the internal battle:

Lincoln wrote in 1863

"We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. . . . We have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!"--Abraham Lincoln, "Proclamation Appointing a National Fast Day," March 30, 1863, reprinted in The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln, ed. Roy P. Basler (New Brunswick, NJ: Rutgers University Press, 1953), vol. 6, p. 156.

So Did MacArthur:

"History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline. There has to be either a spiritual awakening to overcome the moral lapse or a progressive deterioration leading to ultimate national disaster." - General Douglas MacArthur

This is what Father Moon has brought to us:

Now is the time for America, the Christian country representing the Second Israel, to stand in the forefront. I declare to the world that America has the responsibility to guide all the world's people. But it must not do so with weapons; it must do this in truth and love by living for the sake of others upon the foundation of true love, true life, and true lineage.

Washington Times 20th Anniversary

Father Moon spoke in 1979:

If I could have advised the American President about the Korean War, it would have been won, not terminated in a stalemate. There would have been many less problems today. The only reason I met with President Nixon after that was to indemnify what Eisenhower failed to do and to get America on the right course. But who failed? Christians failed. I was going to solve that problem as valid indemnity to restore the Cain-type realm on the world level.

I came to America to solve exactly the same problem that Jesus faced on the Cain side. I will have been working in America seven years in 1981, and during that time I want to restore America, representing the world. I have worked day and night, especially teaching American leaders about the dispensation, the meaning of Christianity and the Will of God.

All the soldiers we remember today and the love we share for their families who mourn can be comforted in the fact that the Patriots of faith are rising like never before in this land. We will not allow America to lose who direction. Through such Patriots America rose up in this dark hour of human history and through her religious and political leaders conducted the Coronation of the Lord. This has been sealed before history, therefore our foundation is incredibly strong. That's why we can march in Israel and Palestine. We have the condition now to revive and redirect America and the world. The believers are rising.

The nation and the world will see the Day of the Lord.
