The Words of the Lepelletier Family |
Sao Paulo, Brazil -- UPF-Brazil in partnership with the City Councilor Noemi Nomato reserved the Prestes Maia auditorium in the Sao Paulo City Hall to celebrate the International Day of Families on May 15.
Christian Lepelletier, UPF-Brazil vice-president, opened the meeting and called the following speakers to come at the main table: Col. Jairo Paes de Lira, former Federal Congressman and Commander of the Metropolitan Police; Rabbi More Ventura, Professor of Judaism; Fabio Antunes, therapist, representing the "Amor-Exigente" Federation (FEAE); Elder Mauro Junot, representing the leadership of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; and Simão Ferabolli, President of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification of Brazil.
After greeting the participants, everyone was asked to stand and face the Brazilian flag to sing the national anthem.
The MC explained about the background of the International Day of the Families, then each speaker shared about the importance of family values including unanimously defending the marriage as the unity between one man and one woman that was instituted by our Creator. They emphasized that a healthy family is the best way to prevent the social problems and the primary foundation to build a better world.
For the second part of the program, President Simão Ferabolli presented a PowerPoint lecture about the family and a proposal for all organizations represented to work together and cooperate to spread the idea of a National Family Movement to educate all sectors of the society about family values.
