RE: Call for Second Generation Interns for Summer Curriculum Project

The FFWPU-USA Education Department is looking for college age Second Generation interns to work on the development of a High School Curriculum for Sunday schools and Hoon Dok Home Churches that will be published nationally. Ideal Candidates include college students pursuing a major in education, active and/or experienced Sunday school teachers and youth ministers, or others with an interest and commitment to this work. This will be a modestly compensated position in the Education Department that will give college students ON-THE-JOB EXPERIENCE in creating and evaluating curriculum, creating lesson plans based on mastery objectives, and creating and critiquing educational resources such as books, activities, games, and media.

Interns are needed NOW and throughout the summer. Full or part-time participation is possible, and working from your home is negotiable. This project is being coordinated by David Hunter, an experienced public school teacher and youth leader, now Director of Second Generation Education for the Education Department, with input from educators and youth leaders nationwide. BENEFITS TO THE INTERN:

1. ON THE JOB EXPERIENCE IN EDUCATION - BUILD YOUR RESUMÉ

a. Create and evaluate Curriculum materials
b. Learn how to write Mastery Objectives based on Educational Standards
c. Learn how to write Lesson Plans directed at Mastery Objectives
d. Develop Educational Materials (games, worksheets, activities, quizzes, tests)

2. SENSE OF FULFILLMENT - HELP EDUCATE THE YOUNGER 2ND GENERATION

a. We need 2nd Generation input on how to Educate 2nd Generation
b. Be on the team that designs a Curriculum for Unification Church Sunday Schools and home-based education around the country
c. Help Educate 2nd Generation from a Professional Perspective
d. Dramatically influence the way Divine Principle and Unification Church Theology is taught to 2nd Generation in the future

3. BANKROLL - GET PAID $$$$

a. Ok, We can't promise much, but the intern(s) will be compensated monthly
b. Room and Board will be provided in the Washington DC area (but working from home is negotiable)

4. PROFESSIONAL FELLOWSHIP - WORK WITH 1ST & 2ND GENERATION EDUCATORS

a. The Intern(s) will work directly with a BC with a Degree and Experience in Teaching
b. The Intern(s) will liaise with Professional Educators at UTS and Center for Education
c. The Intern(s) will network with Sunday School Teachers and other educators in the field
