We are pleased to announce that a Blessing Candidate & Parent Workshop will take place in Washington, DC from July 28-July 31, 2002.

a.. Theme: Becoming Our Greatest Selves; Becoming Great Families

b.. When: Registration will begin on Sunday, July 28th at 12:30pm at the Columbia Family Church. People coming from long distances are invited to come the night before and sleep over.

c.. Who: Parents are encouraged to attend with their children the first day of the workshop, Sunday, which will go from 12:30pm to 8pm. Any second generation 17 years and older is invited to attend, even if he or she has no plans to get blessed in the near future.

d.. Place: Columbia Family Church, located at 1610 Columbia Road NW, Washington DC, 20009. There is limited parking in the back, but most will have to find parking on the street.

e.. Cost: $90 for participants. $10 for parents.

f.. RSVP: Please RSVP by July 23rd, 2002

g.. Bring: Sleeping bag, pillow, notebook and pens, play clothes and formal clothes.

Now that parents are directly involved in the matching of their children, both parents and children have expressed a desire to hold a joint parent-child Blessing workshop. This is the first one and we expect it to greatly help parents and children in the matching process.

We would greatly appreciate it if you would spread the word to your local churches and families in your region.
